I’d also like to see the brown as above, but someone made the comment it’s been discontinued ... any truth to that?

I´m biased, the SD43 is my favourite Rolex.

I had the black dial version of the overseas. I loved the ability to swap bracelet to rubber and back in seconds. Its a great system.
Unfortunately I found the dial just a bit too "refined"...it always seemed to me a dress watch dial on a sport watch body and I just couldn't warm to it enough to justify keeping. I do think I may have felt different about the chrono and GMT versions as there's more going on. Obviously this is just personal preference and everything else about the package is just wonderful.

Haven't heard. No boutique near me, but i am planning on going to the VC Boutique in Doha in January and I plan to try on anything they have.

Agree 100%, VC overseas over the supersized SD 43 hands down. Much nicer, more elegant, classy...

VC in a heartbeat, especially the midnight blue dial. I like their blue much better than Rolex, it's darker and richer in color. Their strap-swap trick is also really cool.

SD is in a weird spot on Rolex's lineup, essentially a fat, more expensive Sub with a completely unnecessary pressure rating.

Two totally different looks IMO.
If you want a very refined, smaller, non ceramic bezel, non-toolish, blue dial....
VS
Everything opposite the SD43 is....
It’s a matter of what look you’re after, as both have a date, and one has a bezel timer. If your saturation diving, then the choice becomes clearer :)
But to answer the question...I’d choose SD43 in just a one vs the other scenario, as it’s more to my liking. But, if I’m adding to a collection, it would depend.
Lots of factors to consider.

SD43. I’m not a fan of the case shape on this version of the Overseas.

VC no need to think about it. considering everything else, it's a bargain at this price point.

are you sure the overseas priced around 12-14 k? I will take one too !

Easily the SD43❗️ The SD is a special watch, and IMO the VC (though a Trinity) Has never been aesthetically pleasing. It looks more like a scratch magnet than a diver.

Agreed, the SD 43 is just too big and bulky for me... the VC seems more refined and classier.

It is a must see before buying I think, the blue really surprised me when I tried it on, a nice deep rich blue, and I liked the quick change bracelet and the straps, so I might have seriously bought the watch right there if VC were giving the old 25% plus discounts but the sales man offered not even 10%, as they were trying to be like PP and Rolex, same with Lange, who offered me just 10% off a £100K watch, and despite me being obviously enthused I never got a promised email from him afterwards so I kind of lost interest in buying a new model.

This seems like too much of an apples to oranges comparison to me. The SD43 is the ne plus ultra of dive watches while the VC is a sporty casual watch that one can swim with but that's not its primary function. While I usually hate these kinds of responses, my answer is buy both (and make my VC blue).

I'm interested in a VCO for myself but no dealers near me in MI. US. Do you have a connection to share? The best price I've seen was @15k on C/24 and I'm not picky on color..

Both are too big for my tastes but I would go with the VCO blue dial! Love the bracelet with its micro adjustment and the quick change system.

exactly.

I absolutely love the VC. I just tried it on the other day and fell hard for it. I've owned several AP ROs though and being somewhat similar I know the VC would't get any wrist time.

On rubber and leather I'd probably get more use out of it. Not that the bracelet isn't amazing, its just a little too much bling for me.

The SD43 is a bit more my speed. Also everest just released this, and it's incredible! SD43 just become a favorite of mine.

VCO, I own an Overseas Gen 2 and a SD 16600. Love my SD but the VCO is much more comfortable to wear. The VCO is also a legit sports watch, perhaps not a diver, but sporty enough in appearance and designed robustly enough for swimming, skiing, golf, etc. Yet you could also wear it when you dress up. The VCO bracelet is comfortable, extremely well engineered and unique in how the design of the links echo the VC Maltese cross brand. I love blue dials but suggest sticking with the grey VCO dial which has an understated sophisticated look.
