After Sir Peter Michael was Knighted by the queen for his contribution in industry/business, he decided to get in the wine biz! He could only build his winery in one place..."Knights Valley" Only makes sense right!? Definitely some of the finest wines of the region....enjoy Sir Ken!

Just to set the record straight:

1) Peter Michael acquired the land in Knights Valley in 1982. He planted in 1983. http://www.petermichaelwinery.com/About/Winery-History/

2) He was knighted in 1989 by Queen Elizabeth.

Everything else is correct.

2004 Penfolds Bin 28 Kalimna
South Australian multi-Region, multi-vineyard blend. Usually a fair bit of Barossa.
Warm-climate Australian Shiraz.
A little disappointing. They say best up until 2018 but I thought it would have benefited from a few more years and the rest will get it.

Getting to know the local wine shops and got lucky today. Here, straight from Southern Rhone area of French was found today in Fort Lauderdale.

One of my most favorites reds. 2009 and 2010 were fantastic and if this is just half as good i'll be ecstatic..

Tonight's Birthday Dinner Selection....

1996 Niebaum-Coppola Rubicon

The bottle was given to me personally by Francis Ford Coppola on my birthday in 2002. Cool thing is he does NOT sign autographs, so I was truly shocked when he handed it to me! Its definitely a special bottle in my heart!

Decanted it for a half hour, and it's drinking superbly!

Cheers everyone!

I'm not really a bottle saver, but I did take the label off the bottle, and will forever treasure it as a keepsake.
