1940s Rolex(?) Skyrocket?

Hi everyone,

I'm back with another vintage find, found at a flea market today. I only purchased it because it reminds me of my first ever vintage Rolex find posted here some 5 or so years ago (linked below).

Link: https://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=491069

Yes, I know, I know.......it doesn't say Rolex on the dial. But if I recall correctly from research 5 years ago, some of these vintage 1940s military types didn't say Rolex on the dial but did on the interior caseback and movement (front or rear).

As you can see from my link and the posted image of an actual Rolex Skyrocket (especially the Skyrocket) the case and caseback are nearly identical. So is the dial and case material (silver) used of the pictured Skyrocket.

I don't have the tools to take off the caseback but will visit the watchmaker tomorrow with undated images. From what you can all see, do you all think this is possibly one of the unmarked-dial Rolex or Rolex Skyrockets?

Thank you all so much for your time and replies.

It could be, but I have about 150 of these mid 40s / WWII watches in 28/29 mm with the same design, print, center second that are made by a hundred different brands.
This was not a very original or maker specific design.

This particular model did not come with the knurled edge found on oyster cases, which is what I look for.

Did you try looking up your soldier on the back.
Would be interesting to see where he served /fought.

:( It's all good and thanks for your reply and info.

No, I have not as of yet. I'll dig around and see what I can find. Thanks again!
