5167 rubber strap wobble?

Hi folks! Long time lurker but finally decided to join TRF.

I recently caved and bought the absurdly priced deployant + rubber strap to replace the bracelet on my 5167. Feels like a brand new watch!

One thing I noticed though is that the straps wobble slightly where it connects to the case. That is, I can slightly shift the straps up and down and it feels like the pins from the strap are moving around in the holes of the case. Does anyone else have this experience? It doesn't affect wearability but I'm curious if this is normal. I am using the same spring bars from the bracelet on the rubber straps, not sure if that affects things at all.

Many thanks for any responses!

No, that’s not normal. There is no rubber strap “wobble” where the strap connects to the case on either my 5167 or 5168. Both straps sit very flush and snug against the case between the lugs.

Wobble isn’t a clear term. Do you mean a tiny bit of movement up and down if Watch is off and you apply significant force? If so I have a little wobble and it is normal as I have a few 5167 and they all do it. It’s a very sturdy attachment but there is some play or movement on it.

Ah, I think this is a good description of what I'm seeing. When holding the watch, if I hold the strap near the lugs and wiggle it up and down, it shifts its position up and down very slightly instead of being very firm with no movement.

Thanks all for the replies!

Take the watch to a Patek AD. There shouldn’t be any “wobble” where the pins meet the case. If you need new pins, they’ll give the option to buy them there. If it’s just your handy work or lack thereof, they’ll sort it out for free.
