Hard to get?

Hello everyone,

I was looking at some old pictures and noticed one of me trying the 5711/1R at my AD. It looked great, but now after some research it seems grey dealers are selling it above msrp. I understand the blue ss 5711 is rare and above msrp, but this one?

Are these hard to come by?

Oh pic as well

It sure seems to be. My local AD has quoted me about two years for one, and all the other places have echoed the same or longer- if they were willing to take a name on their list at all.

Yes they are now. There was a window where these were still easy to get but that closed when the SS price headed north of 40k and started closing the gap to RG retail.

Nautilus and Aquanaut models are hard to get. The precious metal variants also. I inquired with my AD about getting a 5167R and even these are harder to get now. The 5167R was easy to find about a year ago.

They are hard to get now and resale prices are climbing. Just had a look at the big grey WF, and they have 4 blue and 2 white 5711s now sitting there, seems they are not moving quickly at these high prices, £45K for the new 2018 model for example.

Wow that’s crazy. I had tried this one on last march and it was easy to get.

Insane market now

5711r in US is selling for $51 new
59801ar is for 63 new

Im on the list for both... the reason the wait is longer isnt so much theres significantly mote demand. Its that they make fewer. So my AD might get 1 5711/R per year vs 4 5711 a

About a year and a half ago, I walked into a dealer in a major city inquiring about a 5711 blue (after 8 months on my hometown dealer's list which then closed) and was told I needed to buy a stainless steel rolex to be put on the list (with half down-payment) but they did have a 5711r sitting right in the window they offered for 49K.

Didn't pull the trigger at that dealer since I didn't like the combo deal forced on me (although have since bought 2 rolex additions interestingly...) but am still waiting for my turn on the 5711, thinking I could have bought the gold one in the interim to tide me over and not lost any money over the time period...

Don’t fret. Welcome to the club. Watches I’ve seen in cases or tried on at ADs and passed on for various reasons (mainly $ or lack of interest at the time).

Several LV subs
Several BLNR
Several AP 15202ST
Several 116520
5712/1A
RM 35-01
Several 5726/1A
At least a dozen 5980/1A
