Hate the 5167... love the 5164.. is this normal !?

Hi guys.. I’ve never liked the aquanaut 5167 the aesthetics of the case always was a putt off (although always loved the rubber strap / clasp)

2 weeks ago I tried a friends 5164 and I was hooked!! I mean it’s completely different the pushers made the case more symmetrical in my view and the busier dial is just perfect!

I can’t stop thinking abt it now and need to get one ASAP.. if I can find one of course.

Some photos:

I feel exactly the same way! Just picked up my 5164a last week and can't get it off the wrist! Seamlessly transitions from a suit to a tee and shorts. Very underrated in my opinion!

64 love

In the same boat here, maybe the most versatile watch out there...
Here is mine

I certainly don't hate the 67 but the 64 is somehow just so exponentially nicer to me, even with just a few changes made. Probably has my most fave dial of all my watches. I sometimes wonder if it shouldn't be 1-2mm bigger, but then it might lose that exquisite intricacy that PP is so famed for.

I like the 5167, but absolutely love the 5164: Dial, symmetry and proportions are just right!

Definatately possible as i hate tge 5167A and indifferent to 5167A. Owned it for a year before got bored. Even withdrew from a 5650G allocation - stupidity proven

Not normal but that's ok. Love my simple 67a but even so thought about moving it for a 64a which I also think is awesome. But that notion vanished this summer after I got my new SS GMT BLRO so I'm staying with my Aqua and the new Pepsi now.

5164 seem more visually balanced.

Completely disagree. 5164 is like a female bodybuilder....just doesn’t look right. Curves in all the wrong places

I love em both. My favorite Pateks unfortunately not in love with the last two releases in the line. Doesn’t matter as I can’t source em lol

Agree with the bodybuilder analogy lol. I like the 8.4mm thin and 40mm dial of the 5167. Elegant, thin, well finished are all the reason.

The market seems to agree since the 5167 sells at a huge premium and 5164 is or below retail...

I also have a 6.75 wrist, 5711 and 5167 is perfection. 5980 and 5990 while nice are thick

Can’t say I ‘hate’ the 67 but I definitely like the 64 better. For me - the complication of the 64 is VERY useful.

I much prefer the 5167 over the 5164, although I think the date window hurts the dial. The 5164 has better dial balance but is larger and thicker and I just do not need or want the complication in this style watch.

"Hate" is a very strong expression for a mere watch.

Cheers.

Don’t get emotional over a watch lad. They’re both fine.
