Icon7 Figured out which model , need help with dial color

Watch is DJ 41 . It's got so many pros going for it
New mov't with 70hr reserve , love the easy link , slimmer than the previous DJ
(Good for my wrist size ) Etc.
I'm thinking smooth bezel , Jubilee bracelet , all stainless ..
Dial / face colors in play ..
Black - Classic , good contrast . Safe bet
Blue - tad more sporty , Rolex does blue well , pretty safe
Rhodium - wild card not sure on this White & Silver are not in play

Looking to make this an everyday watch . Seems to be hardy enough for almost any activity . Work is mostly business casual - khakis & collar
Or. Jeans & polo .

Had an Explorer and an OP 39.( blue). This DJ41 seems to go one or two steps above those .
Hate to admit this but the DJ is more age appropriate for me over 60
Thanks for any feedback

Given that you already have black and blue dial watches, I would go with DJ41 Rhodium. This one is my favorit choice anyway. Second is blue dial for me.

When you say you “had” an Exp and OP does that mean you no longer do?

DJ41 dark rhodium smooth bezel and oyster bracelet is stunning in person. I was fixed on blue dial until I compare rhodium and blue side by side. Can’t go wrong with either option but rhodium is my favorite dial on DJ41.

Explorer & OP 39 long gone , as well as Tudor BB Blue

I'll try and find a video featuring the Rhodium

Hmm. With the Exp & OP gone I’d probably go black or rhodium as I feel those are a bit more versatile than the blue. Personally I really like the rhodium with the jubilee. Very sharp look.

If I were choosing that DJ41 for myself, the black dial would be my first choice and the blue dial my third choice. I think the black and rhodium fit every situation and every clothing color. The blue dial of the DJ41 is, to my eyes, not as desirable as some other blue dials. I owned a DJ36 with blue dial but quickly tired of the color and traded the watch. Getting back to your original list of only three dial colors, I recommend you look at the silver dial before you make a final decision.

For me it is Blue dial, but the Rhodium is really nice as well. Black is too similar to a sport model. I had a silver dial 36mm DJ and as my eyes got older I could not read the time. The hands and the dial blend together.

I vote Rhodium , it's versatile, safe, and a little unique at the same time. One of my favorite dial on both DJII and DJ41 is the Wimbledon dial and it shows the gray really nice in contrast with the green Romans. The DJ41 Rhodium with sticks is also a favorite, I like fluted on DJ41 but for some reason Rhodium looks good with smooth as well, either oyster or jubilee.

I bought this 4 days ago, after a long time deliberating what was going to be my second watch. It is also going to be my daily wearer.

My other watch is a BLNR and the reasoning for settling for the DJ41 was similar to you. I am also over 50 and another sports doesn't appeal.
BUT, I don't want an out and out dress watch (delicate, leather strap etc) as it will need to cope with daily life.

Comfort factor of the DJ41 on the jubilee is amazing compared to the BLNR. So light and comfortable - which was also important.

I initially went in to buy the slate (Wimbledon) - but when compared side by side the rhodium works better for me. I still love the slate, but found the dial more difficult to read in low light.

Blue dial seems to be most popular at the moment, like the Skydweller.
But I've got blue colour on the BLNR.

I’m a fan of the blue... but there’s really no wrong choice here each has its own merits

Look at them in-person if you can. You may find one of them speaks to you more once it's on your wrist. I found that when I bought my OP recently... and the one that spoke to me in-person was not one I'd originally planned on even looking at.

Black. I am not a fan of shimmering dials. As far as the bezel goes, as much as I love my DD40, if they come up with a smooth bezel I’ll trade it in a second.

Thankyou.
It works well on the jubilee imo.
Another pic which shows the dial colour very well.

When I compared the rhodium next to the Wimbledon (slate) the dial colours were almost identical.

I don't think you can go far wrong with this watch. Just personal preferences.

I like the black stick dial for the configuration you're considering.

This thread would work better as a poll.

Thanks Soultime , that's a stunning Duo you have . Pictures are great , very helpful
that would be the combo I'd like jubilee / smooth bezel .

As for seeing them in person - One dealer had black dial , jub/ smooth - so I did get a good sense of size and wrist presence... it was surprising how well it worked on my wrist .
last time I had looked at a DJ was the DJll & from what I remember it was totally different feel & look . So it was a pleasant surprise and I was able to let the other choices fade out [ for now ]
I've been partial to blue in my past purchase's but hesitant To go blue on DJ

Seeing the black at one shop and a silver at another - no Rhodium to be found .
I have to agree on the silver - just harder to see hands than I'd like

I know the Rhodium was very popular choice for the OP39 - if it's the same Rhodium[ it looks to be ] it is a winner .

The rolex blue dial is the most handsome one, (Sky Dweller blue for example, very similar to DJ, or Tolex Bluesy). I would buy the blue one.

Just based on photos and what little I've seen in-person, I have to say I would probably go for the rhodium. Is the black a gloss dial? Not a huge fan of those. If it's black sunburst, that is better.

When I was shopping for OPs I saw the black 39mm and the rhodium 39mm. Seeing the black is what led me to order my 34mm in black. But the rhodium was really nice-looking, too. If the 34mm came in some rhodium variation, that would have been a real temptation. To me the rhodium just looks clean and modern and would be more versatile and more understated than the blue. It just "works" with the updated case size and slightly sportier, more modern design of the DJ41. The blue looks a little more jewelry-like and would work better if you were going for 36mm fluted bezel + jubilee. If you are going for understated, then black or rhodium. If you are going for eye-catching and blingy, then go for blue.

THe Rhodium, but fluted, is my absolute favorite DJ41! It is stunning in person!
