Acts like a clutch, you knew what I meant and still had to post anyhow..... point is there was no need to continue to wind it every night.

And that my friend was exactly my point. Let the Swiss do what they do best and let the USA do the many things that the USA do best

This thread was not helpful....
I expected better responses, but instead just got people shouting at each other. |

1. The watchmaking school in Lititz, PA is pretty solid. Rolex thought it was anyway when they decided to spend money on it.
2. OP send your under warranty watch to the RSC. That simple in this case because it's under warranty. Sounds like the crown was unthreaded if the timekeeping wasn't negatively affected. 3. Rolex makes close to a million watches per year. Considering the failures we hear about, I'd assume the failure rate/% is extremely low. And in fact when adjusting on a per unit manufactured basis, I'd take a highly educated guess that they beat the Holly Trinity brands. |

And as great as Patek's are, forbid the smallest thing even goes wrong bc it will take a year to receive your watch back from PP. |

What do you think people do? Anyone with an issue is complaining about it online these days... This forum is no different.

OP, best of luck getting this taken care of. It looks like you're resigned to getting this fixed of under warranty, and have a good perspective on it. |

I agree. I wonder where this often implied idea of perfection comes from? I've never seen a Rolex advertisement claiming they've achieved perfection. They craft fantastic timepieces that have the perfect blend of attributes that appeal to me. And they're always striving to improve their watches. Good enough for me.

Over wind protection. Will be fine if you let it stop after a few days...or stop trying to wind it. Same thing with my BLNR and other Rolex’s

This time I did and Rolex is claiming, with respect to the Explorer I, that they do things to ensure "perfection." Silly Rolex. There's no such thing as perfection with respect to a thing man made. |
