I don’t believe Rolex themselves is launching the site, correct ? I thought it was something Jose Perestroika put together ?

The way their Instagram post read, it appeared Rolex was involved. It launches Wednesday at noon Geneva time.

Demand will shoot up 20% more because of the remeniscing and romance associated with history and heritage, especially the vintage variety.
Can't wait. Thanks for the heads up.

Exciting, I hope this is a step towards Rolex appreciating their own vintage history similar to the way Porsche does it.

Most of the true Rolex history is already on forum.

I find this site strange. The articles focus on things like science and history and climate while injecting random bits of Rolex watch marketing. It’s odd. Cool looking site, though.

Sorry but the website is lame... People want the history on the watches from the beginning to now... From when submariners,Gmt's and so forth started and all the transitions, a true history... The website is nicely made but everything is irrelevant to what people truly want...

You have a point. It's mostly advertising, the history is peppered in and I don't think we'll ever get a straight answer on "how" for example at Rolex during the 1950s the GMT, Submariner and Explorer came into existence and what that meant to the company.

Why and what has led them to stay the course in their stedfast adherence to their design language. Maybe the answer isn't cryptic by intention as Rolex has had a very small amount of top leadership all who've been adamantly reserved in opening up about the company. Perhaps when Dufour retires, he may shed some light into the company since a few doors have opened during his leadership.

Although in the end I suspect the secrecy and vagueness is intentional and part of the strict guidance left by Wilsdorf and that every Rolex employee is bound to.

I still love the site. I'm an admitted Rolex loyalist.

Behind the Rolex crown is a way of thinking about our place in the world and an aspiration to contribute.

We call this perpetual spirit.

More than a word on the dial of every Rolex Oyster watch we make, Perpetual is a spirit that drives everything we do.
Ugh, gag me. So it's basically a...giant ad of vapid content? This is what all the watch blogs are AMAZED and THRILLED about?
