Patek museum

My wife and I are visiting Geneva and my AD has set up a private tour at the Patek museum. I am really excited.

Anyone have any special recommendations?

Be prepared to not be able to see the whole collection.

Also, start the visit from the top to the first floor.

Best advice here, start at the top if you can.

Even with a guide leave extra time when finished as there's so much to see. It can be a bit overwhelming and you may want to go back and revisit some displays of interest.

I went last year on a similar AD-provided guided tour, but then went back the following day on my own. It’s very impressive and worth every minute.

I’d also book an appointment at the Salon in Geneva. They have every reference in the catalogue available to view - it’s quite an experience.

One of my favorite places in Geneva. They now allow photo taking of all the timepieces inside the Museum. Enjoy!

I had a private tour (set up by my AD) a couple weeks ago, and had an absolutely amazing time!

My guide took me to the first floor, which was the history of watchmaking and that is where we spent most of the time -- there is a lot to see and to take in there. Probably spent about an hour there. Third floor is the history of Patek and their model lineup - my guide probably spent about 30 minutes with me there. Lastly was the fourth floor - we spent maybe 10-15 minutes there, and about 5 minutes on the first floor (watchmaking machines).

You'll have a great time. Note that private tours are rare - I was the only one with a private tour that day (they can only schedule one or two a day. That day they ended up having another group tour start about 30 minutes in), so a lot of people wandering the museum were looking at me.

It's possible for anyone to book a 2 hour private tour in your language in advance by email via the museum website. Last I looked cost was about 200E.

I set this up for my father and I last year, worth every penny

We chose the walking tour that started on the bridge in Lake Geneva and walk through the "evolution" of Swiss watchmaking.. our guide was incredible!
