Panerai is now releasing a new series of watches (well they always are) but these are now 4 digit watches that begin with a 1xxx. Some of these has snap op case backs with less depth rating. Kind of sad for a brand that is supposed to be the ultimate dive watch. I guess this and other actions (spring bars, no additional straps) are to save costs.

If Panerai looses its credibility as a dive watch than it only becomes a fashion watch and that will not sell IMHO.

One of the best Panerai model in 212.

Is it a fade? Buffet styled re-marketing kind of turns me off but I keep looking at Panerai(s) still from time to time :-)

love all 4 of mine....wear them much more than my daytona.

the new models are beautiful, and if you like them great, if not there are a lot of other watches out there.

since i travel almost every week i'm seeing more panerai's, don't know if it's a new 'fad' or a continuance of the love for the brand.

just my .02 worth, i'm sure i'm wrong, lol

enjoy this pic of my latest, the 662

212 has always been one of my favorite PAMs
