Buying a 2nd hand Rolex

I've seen a gorgeous watch but being cautious in trying to do my research - I've been left some inheritance and want to spend it wisely.

Photo hopefully attached.

Can anyone advise on authenticity (no papers with the watch).

I've looked online and I can't find this watch anywhere but I do not know the date of manufacture. Is it possible the watch is genuine even though I can't find it?

Couple of things...

I can't find a 'no date' oyster with diamonds
It doesn't have any wording on the face

Am I being over cautious - this is from a jewellers not eBay or any other auction site.

From that picture, I'm saying fake. I see several points that concern me.

If it's too good to be true (then it's a scam). Take your time to look around. Buy the seller.

Why not cool your heels here at TRF for a while so you can learn more about the watches before you buy? I second the "buy the seller" advisement. That's what I have done and have been very pleased with the outcomes. There are, unfortunately, plenty of shenanigans that happen around higher end watch sales. People report here of being bilked for thousands of dollars. Caveat emptor is no joke.

Send a PM to DavidSW, OCRolexguy, or one of the other trusted sellers on this forum and see if they can source what you want at a good price.

Do your homework, and try classified on this forum and trusted sellers, or used watch dealers such as Blowers who are UK based.

There are so many pit falls, and too many scumbags trying to scam you out of your hard earned cash. Caveat emptor. I have bought two Rolex watches from eBay, lots of questions were asked, lots of photos requested, I checked feedback and other items for sale to get a feel for the seller, both purchases were fantastic, both were paid for by PayPal, which gives some protection.

My first impression is fake.
Always post here prior to buying with as many photos of dial, case and bravelet.

I think the OP found something they like, available locally to them. Sure they could wait or start searching for one from a TRF seller, but that wasn't their question. They want to know about the watch at hand.

The only thing I can see is the bezel, which is not original. The jeweler can test the diamonds and gold content of the bezel in front of you. I can't see enough of the watch itself to pass judgement.
