How to authenticate a watch still factory sealed?

In negotiations right now to get a 5070G. It's still in the factory sealed shipping box. Is there a way to authenticate it? Seller has a very good reputation. But never dealt with him before.

Yeh...When the box is still sealed and the vacuum hasn't been cut. If box is untouched it means it's a double seal.

If you want to authenticate it, you open all, take a magnifying glass and check the "serial" in the back of the watch with the box, but I wouldnt do that if you're keeping and not using it.

The only way is for you to cut the outer sticker covering the brown box opening flap. Everything after that can simply be resealed.

Are you planning on keeping the piece in the same unopened condition and never wearing it. If so then you can’t even take the piece out the box!

Are you planning to wear the watch. If so, I would look for a piece unsealed unless there is very little premium being asked for the sealed condition. That vanishes as soon as you open the watch. Plus, a 5070, that is an older watch. There may be issues from being unused so long. You cannot know that until you cut it open.

JAT...Seller may be the one who doesn’t want the watch unwrapped in case sale falls through.

I have't thought of that. The price is around 70k. Seems to be the going price for a used one.
