Requesting opinions on 1970 Sub 1680

Requesting opinions on period correctness for this piece (Red Sub 1680 c. 1970).

Looks nice but the part where it says lume plot repair ,would scare me & you'd need some high res pics to tell & details on what that means ,sounds like a relume ,in which case price is to high imho.

People here seem to love Rolliworks, but the 5-6 restored cases I've seen have been seriously over-restored IMO. That plus a not-great relume = no.

hard pass. I dont understand why people want a vintage watch but with a tight fresh new case and bright dial. It looks like it was made yesterday, so you might as well buy a 16610 and save some cash

That's a very aggressive finish to the top of those lugs. It looks closer to a "bark finish" than a traditional finish.

Way over-priced for what it is, IMHO.

Also, strange that there are NO close-up photos of the dial in the listing. There are photos of virtually every inch of the watch, but not nearly enough detail of the dial, especially since some work was done to it.

Yeah I noticed that too, seems like an odd (or intentional omission)

It's good to hear there are others here that don't like these over-aggressive case jobs.

These case refurbishments are like really bad face lifts. They just look wrong. Get a luminova dial and handset while you are at it...

Not a fan and those highly processed images don’t contribute in any positive meaning.
