Great review Eliot
I’m not sure how I missed this, but I’m so glad this thread got humped. As you may know, I was the lucky winner of the TRF James Bond Submariner giveaway. The Submariner is honestly not a reference I ever considered buying. Sure I’ve seen it many many times at my AD but I was always on the hunt for something different. Seadwellers have always been my thing and I guess to be honest, I always thought the Submariner was a little too vanilla for my taste. Fast forward to now ... I can honestly say I’ve come to appreciate its simplicity. It’s superbly comfortable and as you say, can be worn for any occasion. The fact I won this watch here makes it all the more special, like a cherry on top of the vanilla, if you will Glad to see you passion Eliot, I share the same enthusiasm for it |

Nice to read a passionate post about the brand that we love.
I will always be having 'issue' with the super case that the fat lug making my tiny wrist even more tiny. However, it is a durable piece that can handle a few bangs after all. All the best with more years to come. A few blinks and you would be saying the same thing in 2028! #RolexVintage :) IMG_7975.jpg |

Cool review, enjoyed reading your observation. I myself got a 14060 years back though it’s not my daily wear. I should picking up a 114060 soon which I’m really looking forward to and hope to replace my blnr as my daily watch. Cheers.

I've had mine for two months. Not "worth" the ridiculous amount of money I paid for it, but I still don't regret it. I like looking at it a whole lot more than some numbers in my bank account.

My SubC hasn't really grown on me yet. I hope it does because I really want to like it.

Great write up, I have had one for 2 days now and totally in love with it. All the concerns I had about the beefier lugs just melts away with owning and wearing it. Everything just seems so perfect on it!

Thank you for this excellent review. Your passion for this watch is obvious.
Nothing to add, except I agree on the SubC.

Etshell,
I very much enjoyed your review and your love of the Submariner. Like you, I've always preferred this Sub over the Submariner Date. Ever since I got my Explorer 214270 (which I dearly love to wear) the Submariner has been calling out to me. The Explorer and the Submariner would certainly for me make a wonderful pair of watches for alternate everyday carry. I have been wanting to try on a 114060 in order to see how it looks on my wrist. However, I am concerned whether the super chunky maxi case will be a bit too large for me. Time will tell. BTW, Kenneth from what I can see the 114060 does not appear to be too big for your wrist. |

Thanks for the great review.
Just got the exact watch a week ago brand new. I am hopelessly smitten with it. It's keeping incredible time, looks and feels fantastic and is a absolute joy to hold in your hands. I chose it for all of the reasons you outlined. The heft, the finish, the look, that wonderful bezel... sexiest dang thing this watch. I've owned some really beautiful cars, antiques, art in my time, and this ranks right up there with the best that I've possessed. |
