1994 GMT with Pepsi Bezel - Questions vs later models

Just picked one up and would love to know more about the watch. Collectible? Movement? Pros and cons of the GMT from this period versus post 1998 models and newer models.

Thanks,

John

3185 with the "jump hour". If the dial is original should be tritium. While there are a lot of GMTs out there the tritium might add a bit down the road to it's desirability.

Timekeeping etc... will be on par with the latest offerings assuming properly serviced.

Depends on the model...... a 16700 will have the 3175 movement and quickset date.. These were discontinued in ~1999

a 16710 will have the 3185 movement with jump hour hand..... these were discontinued in ~2008

Either one is collectable and part of the great GMT legacy, one of the richest in Rolex history.....

Good point Larry. I had a GMT II in my head.

I have two with tritum dials....1990 and 95'. Im a big fan of lume, but I consider the origional dial to be a big part of the watch. When I sent one if for service, I declined the new dial/hand replacement. GMT is a very usefull feature, and a nice looking watch !
