Question for Speedy owners with OEM Leather.

Hi Guys,

Quick question for those that have the Speedy on the OEM leather strap.

Is the std one that comes with the Speedy 20/16 or 20/18?, Asking because I'm considering getting a Speedy and like the looks of the Snoopy Strap on it but after some research looks like the Snoopy Cordura strap is 20/18 so if the Stock Deployant is 16 it won't fit that strap.

Thanks.

The OEM alligator strap on the Speedmaster Pro is 20/16. I suppose you can pick up an 18mm deployant clasp easy enough.

Reviving this thread , I know that the Hesalite version is 20/16 but what about the sapphire sandwich is it 20/16 also or 20/18?

Thanks,

Thanks,
Yeah, both current versions of the Speedmaster Pro are offered on straps tapering to 16mm at the clasp.

The prior-generation Speedmaster Pro on a strap was reference 3870.50 with Hesalite crystal and 3873.50 with Sapphire (both replaced with current references ~2014). The straps for those references were black alligator with taper to 18mm at the deployant clasp. I recommend telling an Omega Boutique to order the correct strap and clasp for either of those references. Ask them to show you the part number for the clasp, which should be number 9452-1813.

There are lots of other Omega watches offered on straps tapering from 20mm at the lugs to 18mm at the clasp, so if the prior-generation Speedmaster strap is not available (unlikely), then an Omega Boutique might assist you in determining which straps for other Omega models would suit your Speedmaster Pro. If not, then you may be able to do your own research of Omega models and figure out on your own which parts will fit your watch and suit your taste.

New versions are indeed coming with 20/16 mm band and 16mm deployant while older ones can be found with the 20/18 mm band / 18mm deployant. The Snoopy band is only available on ether 21 or 20 mm lug size and both are 18mm at the clasp, so you would need a 18mm deployant to use one.

Thanks for the info guys , saw this pic on DSW and thought that it didn't look like it had lots of taper and thought that maybe it was 20/18 which is the way to go IMO to try the other Omega OEM straps like the snoopy cordura which I really like.
