Need help for a silver 1019
Hi!
I’ve been looking for a silver 1019 with this exact dial for some time now and this one showed up. Very early 1.0M. Case seems to have been refinished/polished recently. Dial looks very nice... Thoughts? Thanks a lot! Envoyé de mon iPhone en utilisant Tapatalk |

I would say it has been refinished. Spring bar sticking out like that suggests it has.

Yes, it was definitely repolished recently...The lugs still seem large to my eyes so I’m surprised the springbars stick out like this...Might it be because they are too long? Or are the lugs really over polished? Envoyé de mon iPhone en utilisant Tapatalk |

The serial dates it to 64, is the dial/hands combo correct for this era? Envoyé de mon iPhone en utilisant Tapatalk |

Could be the wrong springbars — I had this recently with the wrong bars on a 1016 fueling a ‘thin lug’ concern Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Looking at that last photo, the lugs look great. It has to be the wrong spring bar

The bracelet is a tired Mexican jubilee (didn’t know they existed!)
No date stamp so no idea if it might be original to the watch... What would have been the oyster option for a 64’ 1019 anyway? Were 7836 already there? Could it have been a 7206? Envoyé de mon iPhone en utilisant Tapatalk |

Beautiful watch! Always nice to see a 1019 as they don’t show up on the forum very often.

Love this reference, concerning this piece am I seeing a couple of missing hash marks or is that scratches on the plexi? Also I see what appears to be some light chipping around the 6 o'clock area I would check there more closely. Chipping around the edges of a dial is not uncommon certainly impacts the desirability of watch.

I like it. Maybe a new crystal, service and check the springbars. Nothing else.

Stunning watch and a reference I've always lusted for.
Case has been polished, as noted, but I think it still looks strong. Great dial with lovely patina. Double-check the minute markers, dial edge, and the "T SWISS T" area, which almost looks as if it's partially covered by the rehaut. I wonder if the dial is slightly misaligned? Keep in mind this watch is about 55 years old, so you'll have some relatively minor cosmetic issues. (Don't get hung up on the bracelet, which is virtually a non-issue and can be resolved. Those spring bars are most likely wrong.) What's the asking price? |

I’ve had the same impression about missing hash marks but they are not the same ones depending of the picture so I’m guessing it’s because of the scratched crystal. I should get soon pictures of the caseback/movement/naked dial Envoyé de mon iPhone en utilisant Tapatalk |

Dial update!
It looks amazing IMO! Caseback dating it to 64 like the serial suggests! A pretty early bird! Envoyé de mon iPhone en utilisant Tapatalk |

Very interesting piece. Confused by the case v crystal condition. Have you asked an expert to look at the dial? Is the antimagnetic shield present? The case looks laser welded to me, but there are some very crisp 1019’s remaining. Seller matters a lot here.

I had the same reaction, why was the case polished but the crystal left in place?

that dial looks really nice but it still looks like this something going on where the dial meets the rehaut to the left and right side of the T-SWISS-T mark. And some slight discolouration at the top of the dial at the rehaut. It's a 50+ year old watch in really nice shape but this is something I would inspect before parting with 23K.

Need help for a silver 1019
Can’t speak for what David is seeing, but your last 2 pictures suggest to me that the wide index at 6 o’clock seems to be mid aligned. It is shifted slightly to the left of being centered. Maybe a refinished dial? Or was made that way. Back in those days Rolex had dials made by subcontractors and this could just be a 50 year old QC problem. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Dial is original and appears to be in very nice condition. Only issue is the crystal, which is easily addressable.

It’s not even visible in most of the pics, but I’d agree there is a faint smudge, or rub mark or ... something, between 56.8 and 59.6 marks and below. Even simply tilting my screen makes it more/less visible in the pic. If it looks right in the hand under a loupe, I expect it would not be an issue for me.
Really beautiful watch - Anticipatory congratulations! . . |
