Generally, if you see a 1680 TT Sub, it is one that has the dial, bezel, and crown from the Gold model fitted
This was a very popular modification in the early 80's, and a lot cheaper than buying one of the, then new, TT Subs..

One more question..So would they fit a new TT band to the older case?

This watch is near me and a few weeks ago a local buyer/seller asked my opinion of it. After some investigation and PM's with Greekbum, I recommended that he pass. After now finally seeing the pics, its a put together, just look at the clasp and bracelet stamps...one indicates TT and the other SS. The only positive is that it is still in the red Sub dial range, however it will be an expensive transition!

What are the correct end-link numbers for the 1680?

There are many different bracelets that could have been fitted to a 1680 depending on the serial number range and country it was sold in.
I would start here http://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=73646
