How rare is the…

Meteorite dial Daytona? It seems like in any variant is extremely rare. I don’t see any on eBay and only a few on C24. Any one have any idea how rare it really is?

Rarer than meteorite. Most ADs I’ve spoken with, in multiple states, said they received just 1 since their release.

My main AD hasn't gotten one in either. Another I've chatted with has, but only 1.

Unlikely any AD will honestly tell they received how many pieces. Because the next question the customer has in mind will be "Why am I not allocated 1 if you have received X pieces?"
Its also unlikely that ADs did not receive a single piece, hence most will say they received 1 so far

Depends what you mean by rare yes all Meteorite dials no matter the brand are made in smaller numbers compared to the brass or precious metal dials in all watches. You can identify a meteorite by its Widmanstatten pattern, now Rolex uses for there dials meteorite made from the Gibeon meteorite, the Gibeon had a very high nickel content, so it's very stable and basically won't rust. And the main cost is not so much the material around $5-$6 a gram for best top quality slices or slabs. Its mainly the labour process costs to produce a near perfect dial every time, as they are all different and all one of a kind unique when finished.

Rare indeed, and together with the stone and MOP dials it makes a watch truly one of a kind

Gibeon meteorites are composed of an iron-nickel alloy containing significant amounts of cobalt and phosphorus. The crystal structure of this meteorite provides a classic example of fine octahedrite and the Widmanstätten pattern is appreciated for its beauty both by collectors and designers of jewelry.Wikipedia

They’re super rare. Add the fact that all dials are unique, quite a rarity to have in a collection.
