One year with the Planet Ocean
I got the Omega Planet Ocean one year ago to celebrate my 50th birthday. It is my first mechanical watch and it has been great wearing it daily. My other option was a Rolex Submariner, but I got that call 4 months too late. And now I realize the PO was the right choice for my 8 inch wrist.
I still look at my watch when I’m driving or having a nice bourbon and am glad I made the leap from smartwatches. If only I could get some other guys around here into watches. They don’t know what they are missing out on! |

Good for you
My wife got me an Omega for my 50th. Okay, she got me two Omega watches for my 50th, but that's sick, so we can talk about that some other time. Anyhow, I'm glad to hear you love your PO and you're a convert |

It's always great when an expensive purchase turns out to be the right choice.
Congrats & continue to enjoy that beauty. dP

PO is a very underrated watch. I think the 300m gets more attention due to it's Bond connection and less expensive price point, but the PO is an absolute powerhouse.
I find the Bezel much easier to manipulate and the bracelet is (IMO) much more handsome compared to the 300m. Sure it's thick as hell, but 600m rating is no slouch. Assuming you got a few bucks of retail, the watch is represents tremendous value coming in at about 50% of the Sub Date. The PO is due for a refresh and hopefully we see a few mm thickness shaved off the top. I love the "creamscicle" version, but it's a little too hefty for my 7.25 wrist. That said.... a Submariner would go really nice with a PO and weasr much easier. Thanks for posting and wear your Omega in great health. Welcome to the 50 club kind sir! |

I have an 8 inch wrist so the PO is easy to pull off, including the thickness.
I agree regarding the 300SMP. I looked long and hard at it, but I could not get past the bracelet. The PO bracelet is so smooth and hefty. |
