Hi all,

Thoughts on this Rolex 5513 please? Serial no dates back to 1979.

Thanks.

It is a MK3 dial, case unpolished.

I am looking one for my self too. Is it a secret to ask you how much you are going to pay for this piece?

It is a mark 3. Cuz the zeros are lined up.

Buying vintage is new to me too. I guess it all comes down to the asking price.

Does it come with box and papers?

No box and papers. A plus to have them but for these vintage the most important for me would be condition, condition, and condition.

Overall, beautiful Sub with a great case. The slight corrosion on the hands might bug me a little, but it's fairly minor. What's the beginning of the serial number?

Serial 6xxxxxx
Is it a good idea to find matched hands?

Depends how picky you are. I'd leave these hands alone. The patina is close and the corrosion is pretty minor. Sourcing a separate set of hands that match perfectly would be very difficult and probably not worth it.

Virtually any vintage watch will at least have some kind of minor issue. Just depends what kind of thing bugs you and what you accept as natural aging and wear and tear on a watch.
