Branded stuffs..

Just wondering since we're all into watches, what other "luxury" items that you guys found interesting?

I'm always fond of belts, wallets and shoes, basically any leather goods. Bags and travelling bags are also on of my favorite items. I never buy branded clothes though, I find them way too overpriced and my $15 tailor can make me a very great shirt with like a $20 material..

Well, it isn't branded technically. But I am a huge fan of custom made cowboy boots. (take it easy i'm from Texas) I have 2 makers I use at the moment. There is nothing like a handmade boot when it comes to comfort. I currently have 6 pair as I wear them everyday. They are a little steep. The base price starts at $925 and goes up from there depending on options added. But once you wear them you will never be able to buy a boot off the shelf. Also have 2 custom made 100% beaver felt hats that I wear quite often...again a TX thing. but they are really nice as well. As you mentioned Shade, Im also a belt fan, there is a guy down here that makes some beautiful hand-carved pieces.

I do my best to avoid items with prominent branding. In some cases, it is unavoidable, but I do not like being a billboard for corporations.

Now, if some corporation wants to sign me on as a sponsor, then we can talk turkey.

I am not anti-corporation as is the fad these days it seems, but I simply do not identify with most corporations, including sports teams.

The exceptions are Ruger and Rolex, but except for a Ruger belt buckle and a couple of hat pins, I don't really seek out that type of minutia.

I am a Benefactor Member of the NRA and of the Golden Eagles and the Second Amendment Task Force and I do wear stuff with their logos, but this is a matter of affiliation with organizations that protect my interests.

I will also sparingly display my university logos and my service emblems and awards.

Don't like logos; labels belong on the inside.

OK, unless there is something magical about these bags, how does that work out? I mean a Rolex lasts forever. Bags and purses wear out, and relatively fast. My wife likes Marc Jacobs purses, and those are not cheap per se, but every purse I've ever seen her own wears out in a few years.

Don't take this wrong, but if it has to "work out", you defiantly do not buy one.

It's about the best and exclusivity. And a Hermes does hold it's value as good or better than your average Rolex.

Yes they do. I heard you have to wait a couple of months for one.

All depends on your relationship with the sales person. 1 year is normal, but it can be less if you buy regularly from one store. They sell on the secondary market for 2-3K above retail.

I was driving down Southern in Mesa and passed some kid walking with a big Nike Swoosh tattoo on his back....and im sure he paid big bucks for it.
My wife joked about me getting a Rolex crown tattoo on my arm or something....
20+ years ago I was into RL polo dress shirts without a front pocket and the little horsey
on front....now that im mid 50's I see them in the store and wonder what the hell was I thinking....i wont wear anything like that now.

I've got a few pair of Lucchese boots but I don't wear them much anymore.

Ya I hear you about the bags... They're awfully expensive for nothing mechanical inside! LOL. My wife has a couple and they range from 7-15k USD depending on size and leather material.

And yes I agree, I would never wear things that screams the brand out. :D

I'm am not normally a brand conscious person but when I bought my first fountain pen it was a MontBlanc. But now I buy other lesser names in fountain pens and vintage fountain pens. And of course I do own a Rolex GMT Pepsi...so I do have some branded items!!!

I always wanted an expensive pen... or a branded one... anyway, I keep losing my pens so I didn't want to take the risk LOL. So I buy some 20c pens and keep them in my car hahaha..

If I may suggest...buy yourself a good quality fountain pen. The writing experience is unbelievable...the pen's nib just glides across the page effortlessly!!!
