I feel the same. Aquanuat > Nautilus in everyday wearability.
Aquanuat is Mercedes to me while Nautilus is Ferrari. I would drive my mercs everyday and keep the best for only the most worthwhile occasion. If I can choose between one, I'll keep my Ferrari and buy a Toyota (Offshore or Hublot) for everyday drive instead. IMO, VC overseas is the real bargain here if you want to compare with Aquanuat. |

So is the 5712 1a being discontinued this year or not?

Prices have risen by $40,000 in the past three months, and the graph is getting progressively more vertical. |

I wear my 5712 daily but I'm started to get a bit worried as it's now financially a large asset compared to when I bought it. Can I afford to wear it every day like I do? I'm trying not to think much about it because I love my watch. |

Does this mean no more “new” production of 5712 but there may still be stocks yet to be shipped this year? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Oh man, I love my 5712 and it felt really special at $34K when I bought it in 2017. Best...watch...ever...100%.
But, ironically, I don't feel good wearing a $150K+ watch. Suddenly my watch habit has gone from "a well deserved indulgence" to "what the f**k" am I doing..." A genuine, heartbreaking shame because the 5712 is so special and, if I let it go, I'm certain I won't see it's likes again. Never thought I'd feel like I was slumming with a Platinum DD40. and thinking about it, I'm feeling tempted to dump everything and just wear my JC DSSD, which I (fortunately) really enjoy and doesn't seem insane at at the $12Ksih I paid for it. What a crazy hobby this has become... |

I'm sure you buy and wear your pieces for yourself and not for others so the fact that a regular Joe now recognises a Nautilus but not a 5370P isn't really of any importance to us collectors.

I have a much-used one where, back in 2002 a friend turned down an F40 in a straight swap with his 360 Spider. Interesting times for collectors indeed. |
