Please post some in focus photos that are cropped so that the watch itself is large.

Ooof. Coincidentally, I got a very similar-looking "Rolex" about 23 or 24 years ago from a vey sincere guy selling many of them on Canal Street, here in NYC.

Bet that thing felt like a king sat in the safe all these years, it’s almost the pretty woman story.

I don’t know what’s worse though, that sitting in a safe for 24 years or a Rolex owner having to post it to ask if it’s legit.

I think clone is a strong word OP. I’m not sure what watch they cloned but it sure wasn’t a Submariner.

Oh, boy.

Nothing about that watch is remotely legit. It’s knock-off gear.

[QUOTE=LeftieUSA;11088751]A friend sent me this pic of his Rolex he got 23+ is years ago on a high school trip which has been sitting in his safe. Is it real or a clone?

Frankly, . . . you can wear it anytime you want! Just don't think you're wearing a Rolex.
Actually it's SUCH a bad fake, form SO MANY angles (the lugs, the bracelet, the hands, the dial, the crystal), and is SO BAD that even a relatively untrained eye like mine can see that one, with no magnification or well focused pix, at all!

Now, if you're interested in learning more, then study some of the genuine pix of a 20 year old (approx circa 2000) Ref 16610 Submariner.
Look closely at everything that's been said that's wrong with this one. It's pretty clear. And then, this will have been a great learning experience - - you'll know more about what to look for in the future!

Enjoy your path, Sir!
