Help to ID an old Rolex
Hi,
I wanted to see if anyone could help me ID my wife's old Rolex. She bought it many years ago and doesn't have any more info on it. Not the original strap but I can't seem to find much about it on the web. It's a Rolex Oyster Precision. Many thanks. |

Any numbers anywhere? On the case-back? Between the lugs? Size of the watch?

Hi not my area at all….but think It maybe a pre 53 (Swiss made at dial footer) piece
I think 317k No is 1945/1946 and it’s 30mm with common at time syringe hands. Serial no database below http://vintagerolexforum.info/vrf/index3.html Model Number might be between top lugs or inside the caseback. The unusual outside caseback numbering is very much like 40-50s Tudors that had the serial no. there along with model number before going to between lugs.

Most likely a Tudor with a fake Rolex dial and hands. It was common practice in the 80s to do so.

Frankenstein watch - as noted, AM dial for sure and probably hands too that have been "aged" to look period-correct.

Thanks All,
My wife bought this from a "semi" decent watch website a long time ago. I'll see if I can find one of the big watch websites that will take it in and inspect it before seeing if it can be sold. |

Can you open it up and see the movement? If it's a Tudor it would have such movement.
