Finally got my first bronze watch.

I’ve been looking for a bronze watch for months. Thought about all sorts Laco, Archimede, Oris, Montblanc, Zenith, Tudor, IWC. Never tried any of them on but thought I’d probably go Tudor when I did.

Had to go and collect two watches from service from my local AD who sells various makes and found the assistant extremely helpful and knowledgeable - so asked to see a selection of bronze watches.

First out was a Ulysse Nardin Torpilleur Military. Felt its size on the wrist and found the numbers and hands too thin for my taste.

Then a tray with Montblanc 1858 bronze, and 24h with the single hand - nice piece certainly unusual.
Tudor bronze in brown and grey both leather and NATO. Green TAG Autavia. IWC Spitfire chrono and regular pilot.

Made my shortlist of the Tudor grey on NATO, TAG green and IWC.

Tried the IWC on leather - and liked the clean simple look. But was more attracted to the Tudor, commenting that the IWC would look better on a green fabric or suede strap.

After another coffee the assistant offered me and nice but unexpected discount plus an IWC green NATO if I wanted it.

I could hardly refuse and am very happy.

Congrats.

Question. You said “I was more attached to the Tudor”

Why get the IWC if you like Tudor? I can see why the sales person will Ofer you a discount on the Tudor vs IWC.

Here's mine. It's on an erika's originals strap. I like it, but don't love it. A few times I wish I got the plain steel one but the bronze doesn't seem to scratch, so it works well for me.

Congrats! Curious why Zenith pilot in bronze didn’t make the cut?

I really fancied the Zenith particularly the chrono with El Primero - which they had. Trying it on I was surprised as is just didn't appeal to me. Stunning thing - but massive.
Looked and felt bigger than I expected - just didn't gel with me.
