There is definitely an issue with quality control. There are a number of evidence and testimonials that support this.

These days so many people post the gripes online so it can seem like there are many

15-20 years ago there wasn’t such a volume of people sharing there experiences

I think the QC is still on point but the movements are weak sauce. Way too many issues. The crazy thing is that usually you will here the most loud voices in the enthusiast circles for negative issues and it's usually a very few cases, but the voices are loud.
In this case, it isn't about being vocal in enthusiasts circles, it's just plain running amuck.

After owning about seven Rolex watches without issues, the first 3235 I buy, and boom, in for warranty work, back from warranty work eight weeks later and still acting crappy. Very disappointed. In all other aspects I suppose I can admit that I have no issues with Rolex, just this 32xx series mess.

I’ve personally never had a quality issue with 31 or 32 series movements, so for me it’s as good as it’s ever been.

Few years ago I sent in my 116660 for polish /rebrush .Was +1s/day .Asked them not to service .They didnt .Came back perfect, like new .

3235 movement watch ,2 years old ,-5s/day ,sent it in ,came back +1s/day .Perfect .

Thats my only experience in 20 years with RSC.

Never had any QC issues on any new watch .Perfect .

Never had any issues with movement from 31 to 32 and I actually like the 32 movement due to its PR and time keeping otherwise is superb. But I just found a small metal like poking out at 11 oclock of my sub 114060 but not a big issue and not really visible without any loup. Other than that most of my watches are perfect.
