I have not. Never needed a repair before, just a routine service and they were sent to the Dallas RSC for that. I've bought two watches from Ben, but will most likely send everything to RSC from now on.

I would send it to la watch works and forward the bill to the jeweler. If they don’t play ball I’d entertain small claims it’s only 20 bucks to file here. Should be about 500 to laser weld that back to health. I feel they are likely to do a better job than RSC for casework or atleast I’d feel more comfortable with them.

Damn, sorry to hear this Chad. I haven't had anything handled by ECJ Luxe after they spun off but did have a pretty bad experience when it was just Diamonds Direct over a minor repair on a Breitling of mine too.
Probably just best to send to RSC for your new stuff, but I do know a watchmaker in town that I have had do work on some of my older stuff (he does vintage repairs at Perry's in South Park, among other places). |

Sorry to hear about this. You are taking the correct approach, send it to Dallas and sort the rest out later. The watch is the priority here. Keep us posted.

My point is you have no idea who did the damage. And the middle man who used him is at fault for sure. Anyone who subs out to someone else holds the blame just as much as the person actually doing the work. And I didn't assume anything, you made a post warning us about a watchmaker who you think is at fault. In actuality you aren't sure who is at fault. Either sorry for you being stuck in a shitty situation. |

Maybe ask the RSC to look for any repair problems caused by the previous watchmaker’s work?
This might be key info if you can eventually prevail upon the jeweler who subbed the work out. Otherwise this would be a 3-way finger pointing exercise to determine fault and/or liability. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Agree about the middleman. I would put him wholly on the hook for damages. Then he can sort out who owns what share with the watchmaker. ___ Hope you get this sorted painlessly Chad. It’s pretty disappointing to have this happen. |

And for me being a CW21 certified watchmaker only holds so much water. They are only as good as they want to be, regardless of certs. |

I talked to RSC on Friday and then called Chris. He has accepted full responsibility and we are working on a resolution. Hopefully, this will all be behind me soon.

And for those who get caught selling Rolex parts to others, that is the end their parts account.

One question: Were any non-authentic parts discovered by RSC?

The watch is still at RSC and no work has been done yet. I didn’t want to tip them off and see what they came back with. The initial estimate says dented case, dented 18k bezel, and spotted hands. There was one dent on the bezel at the 2’o’clock position, 2 at the 5, and 2 at the 11’o’ clock position. The case back was also scratched up. Dents “may” be visible after polishing. I’m not sure if Rolex has fully inspected the movement, but I’m guessing it also has some damage based on everything else. I haven’t received an offer for repairs or any type of compensation, yet. My patience is starting to run out. If there is a fake part in there, I’m going to be beyond pissed.

I’ve been ghosted by Ross at ECJ Luxe in Charlotte. The watch is still at the RSC waiting for me to give the ok for over $5000 in repairs. These guys are an authorized AP dealer. One of their sales guys is on here. Chris Ward aka ChrisInCharlotte. Looks like I’m going to either turn it in on my insurance or just live with a jacked up watch.

Just seeing this. I actually live in Belmont and have had some watches repaired at Meese Jewelry in the past. Just batteries and such. It's certainly not the kind of place that screams high end watch repair. Regardless, the shop in downtown Belmont appears to be closed up for the last couple of weeks. Not sure if Brad Moose is still doing repairs, but if he is, he's doing it out of his house or something.

Am thinking it could be maybe filed under vandalism, or destruction of property, or something.
