Real or Rep?

A guy in my office has been wearing this for over a year and I finally was able to get him to give me pictures of it without seeming like a weirdo. Not planning to call him out of it's a replica just have always been curious. Bracelet is aftermarket (no logo on clasp).

I won't be able to get any more pictures lol TIA.

The pix are not good enough for me to comment.

I can't even tell if it reads Rolex on the dial.

Did you click on them? That will take you to a fairly high-res enlarged photo.

Fake. The crown is horrible on the dial. Date wheel location seems off.

My apologies, I'm on my mini iPad and couldn't access the link.

I have now and will pass on that one.

The crown is obvious, why does he have an after market bracelet.

Just curious but why did it matter? I can't say I've ever been curious enough to get pics so just wondering.

Maybe the owner is a bit of a poser and the OP wanted to call them out?

Same reason, just curious if it was genuine or not. I don't want to call him out on it, he's a nice guy. I had wondered for a while and had an opportunity to have him text me some pics. I didn't plot or scheme for a year to get them lol

Do you think your friend even knows, the what to even call it, is fake?

You don't want to call him out on an obvious fake, but that just leads me to a bunch more questions.

Where did he buy it?
How much did he actually pay? 50 bucks? Five hundred? Ten grand?
Does he KNOW it's a fake? If yes, why do it, to be a poser? If not, might he want to know it is indeed fake?

Oy.

I honestly don't know. I suspected it was but now with confirmation I just have the satisfaction of knowing. I don't want to tell him because if:

1: He knows it's fake it will be embarrassing for him.
2: If he unknowingly bought it ignorance can be bliss and if he did pay a decent amount for it that will hurt when he can just be happy with it.
3: If it was gifted by someone may impact their memory.

I would want to know it's a fake but I don't really know it's story if it's an inheritance piece or something don't want to mess that up.

Sounds like you really thought this out. You are also giving consideration to the owner.

Good For You!

Based on the hi-res photo, I'd say this watch is questionable at best.

He's a good guy like I said from the start not looking to out him so to speak just satisfying curiosity/hunch about it. Now, if he were a D-head or was flashy about it that would be another story

Thanks everyone for your input!

I think he will know it is fake just fine and is probably enjoying the attention it/he is getting.. a man knows if he is wearing a real Rolex or not.
