A gift should be special to the recipient by virtue of the fact it was a gift. Make choices based on their likes and dislikes.

It would be nice to know about the prospective recipient. A father would probably be surprised to receive a lady Date-just.

Can’t go wrong with a datejust. They’re a quintessential Rolex, can’t complain about its looks and they aren’t as impossible to get compared to other models. Hard to get for the most part yes, for a stainless model, but not impossible.

A sub is hard to go wrong with, if the person is more a suit and tie person - datejust.

I gave a long term team member a Milgauss the other week in recognition of his contribution to the company. He was over the moon to get it.

If they want a PM you are in luck, if they want a SS then you are not.

The question is too general. A good college graduation gift for a 22 year old man is probably different than a wedding gift for a 35 year old man. Need some specifics.

Wow I'm very disappointed in TRF...So far, everybody is wrong. The true answer is: Don't give them a Rolex...

What are you a peasant?

Only way to go is getting them something like the Patek Triple Grand Complication: https://www.chrono24.com/patekphilip...-id5373683.htm

Or perhaps, a Richard Mille RM69 Erotic: https://www.chrono24.com/richardmill...-id8614295.htm

But if you absolutely must abide by a budget and get a Rolex...The 228396 TEM Day Date would do for a "Budget beater" at about $500,000 or so: https://www.jamesedition.com/watches...ralds-10463986
