Just as a casual observer of the market, it seems that the Tiffany co-branded Pateks do fetch a little more on the secondary market because there are fewer of them sold

If you are purchasing for price appreciation or value retention, the 5146 is not the watch to get, with or without the Tiffany stamp.

Which model would you buy and with or without the tiffanys branding. Im being told the tiffanys branding is hard to find and will be pretty limited is that true

I’m not aware of a Tiffany “colab” 5146. You can buy one with a Tiffany stamp though.

There was a special edition 5396 for Tiffany, which was more than just a stamp on the dial.

Yes the stamped models are the more or less valuable

Tiffany stamped models as a rule sell for a premium. But if a model doesn’t hold its value well generally, then I don’t think the stamp will do much to change that.

on that watch, no. You will pay more to acquire it as any AD will give a good discount and Tiffany wont. The extra money you might make selling it is less than the retail hit you take at the point of purchase.

I like the stamp on the 5167 and 5711, the simple sports models.

Sure but a watch which looses a ton on resale will loose anyways, Tiffany branding or not, just the Tiffany one will hold slightly better, but the 5146 looses a ton on resale, for the ones which hold value best I would say any type of Nautilus or Aquanaut, knowing that of course the 5167, 5711, 5712 in steel will be almost impossible to find, as well as a 5990, so either in RG or maybe a 5726, some of these sell for way above retail, while others retain value much better than 99% of watches on the market, anyways I would buy a sport model myself, not because they hold value the best but because it's the models I prefer, and yes they also hold or even increase in value, depending on the model

a lot im sure... but that is apples and oranges as a 5711 is next to impossible to find at retail anywhere and the other one is an unpopular watch that sells at big discounts from every AD but Tiffany.

The comps are hard to find, but think about a 5711 that is 50-100 times as rare as a standard one.

If the OP like it with Tiffany cobrand, go for it. You may try to find the second hand one with Tiffany stamp but not easy to find.

Damn never really thought of it before, but it sure looks nice.

Price is $85K and pretty horrendous as usual.

Only retail my friend. The tiffany world is getting impossible, but I may have one left before they cut me off.

makes me wonder how hard the 5980/1R is to get from T. Id rather have that at retail than to pay 85k for a 5711/1R. I would guess it is attainable.

Def go retail.

Then you can't sell it to me for no horrible mark up.
