I love mine although it is a black dial.

Love your review. Thanks for sharing your experience on this beauty. The problem is, I couldn’t see one in any shop.

I love my black dial OP, so you're preaching to the converted with your (excellent) review. Great comfortable watch. I can forgive the lack of an easylink as I wear mine slightly loose so don't really need the additional adjustment.

Great review (and pictures!), I especially enjoyed your thoughts on that indeed very unique "white" dial. Only, the OP39 curiously uses SuperLumiNova instead of Chromalight!

Thanks for reading. Yes, I also didn’t really miss the easylink while I had the watch.

I had a choice between the Rhodium and the White when I bought my OP 39mm... To this day I'm not sure I made the right choice

The thing about the rhodium is that it can be a bit unclear, given its dark face and those hands... But in bright artificial light, or sun light, it is an amazing dial that personally is more interesting than the white. It also looks fantastic on wrist... Where the white looks fantastic looking at it up close.
I can't justify two OPs or else I'd grab a white dial in a heartbeat!

I really like that dial too. I had a chance to spend some time with a friend’s Datejust that had a silver dial and I can identify with your statements about readability. That said I think the trade off in the brilliance of the dial was worth it. Thanks for reading! Cheers.

OP39 with white dial is beautiful in person. Up there with the Explorer I in terms of versatility - never out of place dressed up or dressed down.

Thanks for the excellent review. I’ve had mine for over a year now and absolutely love it. Your comments about the perfect proportions of the case are spot on, but it’s not just the case. It’s the combination case/bezel/dial markers that taken together create almost perfect balance.
I used to have the 39mm Explorer 1 (214270) and even though it uses the same case as the OP39, the balance is most definitely off due to the use of the wider and flatter bezel, and the outsized numerals.
Just proves that every minuscule detail on such a small surface matters

Nice review. It’s going to be my next Rolex. Love it’s simplicity and elegance.

Great review! Considering this watch for myself. What I would like to know is the lug-to-Lug dimension. Would you mind sharing?

Cheers

Hi Paulsky,

thanks a lot but that's the lug width. I meant lug-to-lug length. Somehow really difficult to find for this watch...

Cheers

It is a nice one. I'd like to get one with a blue face.

That’s what I meant by height. It’s 48 mm.
