Everest strap, yay or nay?

Trying to determine if this red Everest is worth keeping...

Everybody will have an opinion. I’m not a fan of rubber straps on Rolex models but some are. It’s ultimately your decision.

Not a fan of the red rubber. I recently saw a black rubber strap in a sub and it looked good.

Don't like the red, but I do like their straps.

I wear a red rubberb on my polar ExII and I'm happy with it. I never tried Everest but I don't see it being much different.

For some reason, rubber on sub is not for me, especially that color on that sub.

Sorry.

Rubber is for condoms, not watches.

its ok but not my first choice - prefer steel bracelet - if it has to be rubber I would go black

great strap, color is ok. Obviously black is the ideal choice. For fun options their green strap looks great on a 114060, and orange is really fun (but kind of in the red group).

If it's every once and a while, I don't see anything wrong with having some fun.

Nay. I’m a traditionalists. Less is more. The Oyster bracelet belongs on a Sub in my opinion.

I'll parrot previous posters and say that the red does nothing for me. I think the same strap in black would look great.

I too have an 114060 ...

It spends 90% of it's time on a NATO strap (nylon, leather, and rubber), but I've toyed with getting an orange Everest rubber strap to use with the OEM deployment. I had a black Rubber B with tang buckle for it years ago, but found it too boring and utilitarian, so I sold it. I have an orange rubber Zulu Diver NATO that I wear it on in the hotter summer months I've received quite a few complements on. I'll eventually 'upgrade' to the Everest strap though. IMO, orange and black is a striking combination, especially on a diver.

If you go in a completely different direction and decide to get something more monochromatic, I suggest checking out the graphite digital camo rubber strap from Horus.

I don’t like it personally, but if you balanced it with a YM red seconds hand that would probably look pretty cool. That’s obviously a bit much to compliment a strap change though.

I think it looks good, but I think Rolex bracelets (oyster and jubilee) and clasps are so good, I’d have trouble wearing anything else.
