My new Seiko Presage SPB047 enamel dial

My first nice watch when I was a teenager was a Seiko. I wore it for years and years, in my late twenties it still was my only watch but the bracelet was completely worn and the head became a pocket watch. After that I got into Swiss mechanical watches and forgot all about Seiko. Around 2010 I discovered Grand Seiko and liked what I saw. Not enough to buy but when someone posted something about the brand it intrigued me. The more I read about it, the more users posted pictures, the more I got really into the idea of buying a GS. In 2014 I did. The wonderful SBGR061.
It's a stunning watch and I still enjoy it tremendously.

When JLC, an other brand I admire, launched a beautiful enamel dial watch some years ago I very much wanted to buy it. The enamel dial was mesmerizing to me. The price, however, was eye watering.
Not a watch for me.

So when Seiko launched a line of enamel dial watches I, if course, wanted one. So last Saturday I got it and it is just beautiful. The dial of course. But the case is too. It feels like a high(er) end well made watch. In fact, value for money this is an unbeatable proposition imo. Size, at 40.5mm, is on the large side for a dress watch but it gets away with it because of that stunning dial.
What I also like is the 10 bar depth rating. Never be afraid of water when wearing a dress watch is a good thing.

The movement is top, I have been wearing it non stop since I got it and it runs well withing COSC, in fact after 6 days of wearing it's 4 seconds fast. Yes, for the 6 days total ! How good is that?

Some pictures I took earlier today.

Looks excellent. I actually prefer this to the presage model (spb039j) that I have

IMO, the appeal of Presage is that it's an affordable watch with a hand finished dial. Since most of the time we are looking at the dial, I think it's a good concept

They have a few other enamel & lacquer pieces
