Now when new ROC have in-house movement, when counters are equal and date are centered between 4 and 5……many TRF like more previous model because of the small counter…… ))))
I have the new ROC and have and the old one….. new model it’s better in any way.
Yes the date are on the edge of dial but new movement are bigger…..
I think AP must personalize all the watch for customers preference……)))
No. Don’t get me wrong. I like the new ROC better than the old one. The design is much more pleasant in symmetry. Just wondering why when AP designed the movement for the CODE surely they knew it would be used in the new ROC eventually as VogelPhoenix pointed out but why it still results in the protrusion at the edge. It’s a unique characteristic that I like but just trying to understand the design philosophy of AP.

If they made it perfect, there would be no need to get the next version of the watch. So leave small imperfection as reason to upgrade later. Ha.

You're probably saying this in jest but I have long thought this about Porsche and the 911. They never seem to make the front and back ends perfect in the same model then the next evolution will fix one but mess up the other.

For instance the new rear of the 911 looks amazing but the front end leaves much to be desired. Sorry for digressing...

Man, you read the post dead on right. I meant it in jest but with a heavy dose of truth underneath. And I mostly agree with your example. What were they thinking with that front!?!?

I think the 15202 shows APknows how to get the geometric proportions right between the octagon, and squares, the date window, etc. However, now they choose to fudge a little by design.

Anyways, I think display case back is enough for me to want to try to get this watch even though I know I'm going to hate the thickness based on wearing comparable watches of similar thickness.

I like your idea of the blue subdials.

Check out AJChrono on Instagram. He posted a video a few days ago of the new rose gold blue next to a platinum Daytona. For some reason, the video link won’t post here.

Maybe someone can help me out and post the link?

Anyone see any good side profile side by side shots to get a good look at the thickness?

Here you go - pretty chunky (good part of it b/c of the display caseback, it seems):

Thanks VogelPhoenix!!

Comparing the side by side, I noticed that the width of the bracelet on the AP is much larger than that of the Daytona.

It's interesting for the code watches they put the sub dials bigger on the left and right like previously. I really hated this design when the sub dial color was different from the dial. For some reason it always reminded me of Micky Mouse's ears. But, when they are the same color it looks way more balanced. Now when they are all the same size I feel they should have spaced them closer together. Seems like there is too much gap between them. But I'd have to judge that in person.

I love the platinum daytona with diamonds but next to the rose ROC there appears to be a big descrepency in quality and finishing. The rose ROC looks like a million bucks but I bet would attract a lot more attention. I love both!

It's funny, they actually told me they probably won't sell me any pieces since I got my AP from an AD instead of them and apparently they don't like to compete within their distribution network

That’s just ridiculous! This whole watch market place is going down the toilet.
