That's a good one. For me, the Prohibition Style probably beats it out just a bit, but I prefer the lower proof of this one. I enjoy a lot of higher proof whiskeys, but I'm finding they give me indigestion in my older age.

I’m a fan. Brown Forman has so many good offerings that are actually available to purchase. The omega to buffalo traces rolex

Nothing special but not bad either.
It’s an easy sipper.

Cheers..

So the Old Forester was pretty good and a nice change of pace from my usual. I’m not up to speed on the parent companies for these beverages. It turns out that most bourbon and rye I drink is from Brown Forman and Buffalo Trace! Rounded out with Michter’s and one bottle of Van Winkle Lot B.

Question for everyone. What would be a nice bottle of Scotch whiskey in the $50-100 range, relatively easily attainable?

Ooooo lots of good scotch in this price range. I like peated therefore my suggestions are Ardbeg 10, Laphroaig 10 and 10 Cask Strength, Longrow Peated and Springbank 10. For a sherry bomb, I’d suggest Glendronach 12. For blends, I’d suggest JW 15, compass box Peat Monster and Monkey Shoulder.
Cheers!

It’s def a dessert pour. Not your typical profile being a double barrel. I don’t know scotch from soda so I’ll leave it to the experts

Man, tons of choices in that range. All depending on what your preferred region is, to be honest.

The Dalmore 15 is pretty solid, although Dalmore has attained official hype and overpriced status, almost as bad as Macallan....

X2 on the Ardbeg 10 if you like smoky and peaty.

My other recommendation would be Oban 14.

Ardbeg 10, Laphroaig Ciardeas, Balvenie Caribbean Cask and Glengoyne 12/15 would be good picks!

That one probably hurts a little bit more than your last dram of the Jack Daniels.

And there's still a drop in the bottom of that bottle - please drink it.

Agree. For a bourbon with no age statement and that isn't barrel proof, really enjoyed the couple of bottles I've picked up. It's a single barrel and they're now doing store picks, though, so YMMV going forward.

MSRP is $79, I would jump on it if it is 90-100 and if you are able to buy more than what you need, I would love to buy a bottle from you- been looking all over without success.

For some reason, it is almost impossible to find any of these HTF Bourbons in Texas. I have pretty good relationship with a couple of stores but all I could get this year so far is the EH Taylor barrel proof, Weller full proof and old Fitzgerald BIB.

I lived in PA for a while before moving here and still have a lot of friends- was able to order a few nice bourbons off the FWGS website.

You all enjoy!

Do you think the shortage of all the Buffalo Trace made bourbons will continue for many years to come? I realize that the demand 10-15 years ago was not the same as it is now. But when I was at the distillery a few years ago they were in the middle of large expansion. Maybe they will be able to ramp up production and bourbons like Eagle Rare and Blantons will actually be easily attainable?
