Modern pieces are doing ok-ish, yet mass produced 'vintage' models are very, very soft.
PATEK PHILIPPE Ref. 5235G-001 A very fine and rare white gold annual calendar wristwatch with regulator-style dial, Certificate of Origin, and presentation boxes Estimate $25,000 - 50,000 SOLD FOR $37,500 ---------------- PATEK PHILIPPE Ref. 3940 An attractive and fine “first series” yellow gold perpetual calendar wristwatch with moon phase Estimate $15,000 - 30,000 SOLD FOR $35,000 ----------- PATEK PHILIPPE Ref. 5004R-014 A very fine and rare pink gold perpetual calendar split-seconds chronograph wristwatch with moonphase, Certificate of Origin, additional caseback, and presentation box Estimate $130,000 - 260,000 SOLD FOR $180,000 i remember when 5004r sold for 275k+ years ago and almost got one over the 3970er (was $120k w/box, original papers, etc, now you're lucky to get $85k for it). -------- It will be interesting to see what common release Pateks go for 10 to 20 years from now (when one also accounts for currency devaluation / inflation).
