If you're ever in Stuttgart...
So I've recently been stationed in Stuttgart and spent most of today strolling around königstraße. If you're ever in the mood to put at least four Rolex dealers within a square mile against each other for pricing, this is the place to do it. The only store name I recognized was Wempe but there's more than just that show in this town.
Seriously, horology heaven for the casual shopper. If you ever find yourself here, check it out! |

There's a shop that's got a few sports models pre-owned, so they're not an AD per se, but it's there if one's interested.

love to see the look on a German sales reps face when you go from shop to shop asking for prices.

I used to live near Stuttgart when I was younger.
I used to wander up and down the Koenigsstrasse, before I guess I really had an appreciation for the quality of the shops there. Can't wait to go back there! |

There was a shopping event this weekend so I spent a bit of time window shopping for more than just watches. I did just get a Datejust so I wasn't exactly seriously looking to get a watch last night, but it's always fun to go see what they've got. Showing a friend who'd recently become interested in watches a few Breguet models really opened his eyes. In sure he'll be making a few trips back there to pick one out.

Don't forget the Porsche Museum while you're there.

That's next on my list, as well as seeing how difficult it is to get into Basel 2015.

For a business town, Stuttgart is a great city for shopping. I went to a conference there once. Good times.

Spirtnoye, I was stationed in Stuttgart last year. My wife and I loved it. Visited Königstraße many times and I of course made my way to all the watch shops. It's a great way to spend a Saturday. Enjoy!

Thanks, any other places you'd recommend? I've been here and month and it's been an excellent assignment.

I'm stationed in Stuttgart as well! Kutter is the other AD that I've been to. They also have a great selection of Panerai and some amazing wall clocks. There's a small auction house and preowned shop around the corner to the Southwest and faces the schloss (castle) across the courtyard. Don't recall the name though.

I'll have to go down that way and see about that auction house. You never know what comes across their lots.
