jaeger lecoultre master calendar meteorite

Was reading an article of this watch the other day & I think it's beautiful!

When my AD has stock I will be going in for a viewing, whats everyone's thoughts?

I know this watch will be very lightly discounted due to it being a new model & my AD giving me the usual there is a few interested in this. What kind of discount can I expect on a JLC?

Pics Attached: I think the Silver starts around £8000 ($12000) and the gold around £15000 ($22500) This is my estimate, I have seen it listed on chrono24 for

Gold one here for $18000: http://www.chrono24.com/en/jaegerlec...arch/index.htm

Silver one here for $9213
http://www.chrono24.com/en/jaegerlec...arch/index.htm

The question I know and silently I know the answer underneath is that would I be able to wear this piece everyday or require 2-3 pieces and this to only be used on special occasions

It's a great looking watch. I prefer the gold with the darker dial. I have been offered 20% discount on the Perpetual MUTs in precious metals before so would have to think this will (in due time) be similar.

really love this one. Probably my favorite JLC at the moment. That or the geophysic, but I haven't had the chance to see either in person.

Yeah I agree, I think the meteorite dial really come to life with the gold case an makes for a much nicer watch compared to the silver but then it is double the price

Just an incredible watch. As with all watches, the greater discount will come with time

I know this is resurrecting an old thread but 4 years later i finally got 1!

Pictures to follow shortly!

1 Question I do have, it seems there was 2 batches of these, some seem to have the solid silver/gold rotor as mines has however other ones seem to have a solid gold JLrotor?

Congratulations! Which version did you end up with? The non-meteorite version of the gold version has been on my rador for a few years now but I just haven't yet pulled the trigger.

As for the movement rotor, older versions of the steel version (I'm not sure about the gold version) have the silver rotor with the gold edge while newer versions have the solid gold rotor. I've only seen the gold version with the silver and gold rotor but I'd be curious if newer versions also have the solid gold rotor.

Thanks! I'm still undecided if its a keeper, in certain lights it's a bit plain, but in good light it just pops! Really clean and well designed. I can see my reflection in the gold moon on the moonphase!

I ended up with the steel, not a big fan of solid gold watches anymore (too loud) I see mines has the older rotor, shame they didn't make them all with the newer rotor, it's much more nicer on the eye!

Looks great! The moonphase really make the blue crescent pointer and the 31 date really pop.

I love the darker grey meteorite on that rosegold JLC.

(Why hasn't Rolex adopted the darker grey meteorite on their watches?? They seem to use only light-hued meteorite on their watches.)

Love this one. Can never go wrong with a JLC - I came pretty close to getting a MC (non-meteorite) or MUT Moon, but ultimately ended up with a Reverso. I previously had the 1931 and wanted to fix that.

But this is an amazing watch- great complication. Please wear proudly.

My AD had a steel MC Meteorite dial with the newer 22K solid gold rotor. The new rotor design is a real looker and was one feature that persuaded me to get a Geophysic True Second.

Congrats on the purchase.

In the original post you had been pondering what type of discount you could potentially expect on a JLC. I’ve been slowly talking myself into a JLC Polaris Chronograph and have been wondering if I might be able to swing a discount (they seem to go for about $1,000 below MSRP on the gray market). Did you end up getting any discount on your JLC?

I absolutely love meteorite dials, your watch looks fantastic! I could go either way on steel vs gold. Steel is more versatile, but the contrast on the gold version is very unique.

Congratulations! It's a gorgeous piece!

I got mine in October 2017. It has the newer gold JL rotor.

That slate grey dial on the rose gold is a beauty! I was on the fence about which one to get. At half the price, and steel being more versatile than rose gold, I went with the steel, although I like the slate color on the dial more.

Thanks for all the comments! Loving this, hopefully the sun stays out so the sun really pops! Just read the manual and will align the moonphase to the calendar provided.

I bought mines privately so didn't go down the AD route, i believe their discontinued now so private is the only option i'm afraid.

Would you mind saying how much the watch weighs?

I'm also curious how much the pink gold one as well, if anyone knows.

Thanks

Just curious if anyone can tell me about case's quality of Master ? I'm having a Reverso and the stainless steel case is truly a scratch magnet.

Over the years I have owned several different stainless JLC Master models including MC Meteorite, Hometime, Moon, and others. I also have owned several Reverso's. In my experience The Master steel models are not scratch magnets and hold up well with wear. As you stated he Reverso is much more prone to show scratches

All the JLC Master Calendars are among my favorite watches. I personally prefer the standard brushed dials but the meteorite ones add some great texture and interest.

Thanks bro, your comment help me to pull the trigger on a Master. In my opinion, I believe that Reverso's steel is softer than gold
