24hrs with Planet Ocean 43.5mm/8900 Blue
Been trying to try-on a 214270 for months at my three relatively local ADs to no avail, and no availability in the near future according to them. I need to try before I buy. Simple as that. No inventory, no buy.
So I caved and got the latest 43.5mm PO in blue and couldn't be happier. Asked a known forum frequenter how it wore compared to the MM300 all owners love (and might hate) prior to pulling the trigger as I did not have them size the bracelet at the OB when I tried. That moment when you think to yourself "this is how the MM300 should wear but don't really give a damn" is the best way to describe the watch. Wears like a SBGA029 with slightly more heft once fitted. Wears like a glove considering its size. SD4K sale regrets prior to Rolex discontinuing have vanished. For that matter, thoughts of any new Rolex have vanished and not because of Omega availability and price point... IMHO a well rounded and better watch than the SD4K which is saying a lot. Can't really compare it to the 214270 as they're different beasts. The blue is absolutely perfect. So happy I went with this color. For the record my wrist is <7.5" but >7.25" Wouldn't be comfortable saying "I'm done with Rolex" in the current climate, because I love the brand, still own one, and haven't given-up on them entirely (yet), but if there was ever a watch (or brand) to convince one fully this might be the one: |

Looks great! I agree 100%, Omega doesn’t get the recognition it deserves. Half the price and twice the tech. Just picked up a new blue seamaster pro, quality is on par with any Rolex I’ve owned. Wear in good health! That dial has such depth, amazing watch!

Omega is every bit the Rolex equal in many ways.

Nice watch but what's an MM300?

Congratulations. I recently bought a PO GMT, have really been enjoying it was well. I have a 214270 as well, but as you say, an entirely different beast.

Congrats! Great watch. I agree that it gives the SD a real run for its money, and I’ve had both. If I were in the market for a diver right now it would be Planet Ocean or a SM300, not a Rolex.
Seiko Marinemaster 300. One serious badass watch. |

Couldn't agree more. My PO has become my "go to" above the others. It's tough, accurate, comfortable, at home in almost any situation, and simply gorgeous. I have a hard time putting anything else on the wrist these days.

Love the blue that I'm actually getting myself one. Wanted it for a while but I have a blue Pelagos. After seeing them side by side and trying one in I decided to sell my Pelgaos and get myself a PO. Went with the older 8500 Titanium 42mm. Got it at a great price and can't wait for it to arrive. Will post pics soon.

Congratulations. The PO, while an entirely different breed that EX I, is one of the best models Omega sells.

Awesome and congrats. Beautiful. Funny you mention about the 300m. I too was thinking of the new Seamaster. I just couldn’t do it compared to the PO GMT. I love this watch. I have 6 3/4” wrists, but this sits just fine.

Enjoy your new PO and wear it in good health!
Funny, I waited for months to try on a 214270 and when I finally did, about a month ago, it was underwhelming to me. Don’t get me wrong, it is a gorgeous watch, but I just didn’t feel anything when I put it on my wrist. I understand your “no inventory, no buy” position too! |

Congrats. I was close to the black and orange, but pulled the trigger on the blue in the end. Very classy watch. I’ve got a rubber strap on order to lighten the load and dress down when I need to. Don’t think the leather strap suits the watch, bracelet all the way. Love the micro adjust.
