I also really like the Hardwick, my poor man's EG dovers :) They are very comfortable.
I am a big C&J fan, they are my most comfortable of shoes, I have 4 pairs and get most wear. I also have Trickers, Church's, Loake (which are incredible value) and Cheaney.

For wallets I mainly have Goyard and LV.

Love Cifonelli, big fan. Nothing quite like it. I’ve tried Corthay but can’t fit into any of their lasts.

My advice is to bring a decent wardrobe for the work interview (suit, jacket, hat, leather shoes). When you're on the job, see what others wear and develop your wardrobe. Overdressing is as bad as under dressing, so it all depends on the venue.
Nearly everybody wears a suit or tie every day in California. I have been doing a 2-month project in the area of San Francisco. I was the only guy in the building wearing a tie every day (I did it deliberately to make people remember me-it worked). If you're in the East Coast, prepare to wear dresses a little more professionally.
