Hey TRF - been awhile. Thought I’d share my recent acquisition. I got lucky when I called my AD to see where I stood on them”list”. My new Deepsea D-Blue - love the beast. Wears smaller than it appears and much more comfortably than I remember from the original version. The dial and crystal are a lot of fun to look at - like the distortion when viewed at an angle.

Congrats! Looks great. You think the new bracelet wears more comfortable than the old one? I’ve heard opinions on both sides.

Thanks! I think it definitely wears a little more comfortably than the previous generation case/bracelet. The more I wear it the more comfortable it gets. I don’t remember that being the case with my old Deepsea.

I am semi new to the forum but not new to Rolex. I have a Deep Sea D-Blue JC and its completely spoiled me. Its wrist presence and incredibly character has me disappointed with any other Rolex. It makes the subs and other sport watches way too dainty. I knew I would love the JC but didnt think I would wear it more than any other watch in my collection. This gets more wrist time than any of them.

Just Sharing my newly acquired 2018 DSSD 126660. Unfortunaly the DBlue was impossible to find in AU. I was lucky to find this beauty last week.

To make the wifey happy, I got her a Sub-C date... 😁 I told her “Like a Submariner, I will go to the depths of the Deepsea just to be with you”.... 😁 Happy wife happy life... and hopefully another rolex later 😂

got a big bug for the big watch and ordered one from DSW. it is a black dial 116660 mk3 from 2015.

here is a photo of the watch


the thing that hooked me was the domed crystal and matt dial. i just like the variation you get from a domed crystal.

not much stock around here in australia. i much prefer the black dial and 116660 thinner bracelet so i was in luck because that's the cheapest variant right now. which is nice because for me it is not always the way!

kind of amazing to me that with people frothing to death over certain ss models you can still pick up a watch like the 116660 for well less than rrp.

Congrats! Great choice! And smart thinking to buy low while it’s a bargain. Try the bracelet with the fliplock removed. It made my bracelet fit like butter! I didn’t realize what I was missing until I changed it!

Good thinking! Is your wrist 7.5-7.25? He should be able to just pull the flip lock and leave the links. I swapped mine myself. Purple loctite and bergeon screw drivers are already handy for me so it was no big deal.

Post some wrist shots. Remember to start slightly snug and loosen as needed on the glidelock.

just measured it and surprised to see it is more like 6 3/4". which i guess means 2 links out as well (if same as sub sizing).

it is all good. if it ain't right i have the tools etc.

anyway i should not count my chickens etc. i wait patiently and humbly, encouraged by the fact dsw is involved.

My wrist is 6", and I took that out as soon as I got the watch in 2008. Fits great (though it looks ridiculous on me -- way too big). It's the one on the top left:

6” wrist might be on the edge. Do the lugs hang over the top and bottom? Glad to hear it is comfortable even if large.

The first person I ever saw with a deepsea had about the same size wrist actually. He’s a triathlete and showed up with one of them right away.

It’s a perfect fit for my wrist. It’s all about what you get used to also,

Yes, a bit. "On the edge" describes it pretty well:







It's not quite as bad as the Ploprof, though, which is like wearing an aircraft carrier on my wrist:



I generally don't go for watches this big, but the DSSD (and Ploprof) were exceptions. I just thought they're both really cool. They get only occasional use, but definitely no regrets!

I feel the same way. Loved my LVc, then loved my SD43 more, now love my D-Blue 126660 most.
