So it hasn't been fixed at the factory as far as I can tell. Fortunately Rolex RSC London is on my way to work, so I'll drop it in tomorrow. It's such a shame. It's a great watch apart from this issue... |

I purchased my watch with the first 10 watches that were delivered to London. In the beginning of November I started to experience the same problem - the date wheel is getting stuck between the dates. I went to the dealer I got it from - Bucherer at Selfridges - and gave it to them to fix on Nov 21st.
Its Jan 22nd now, and I still do not have the watch. Ive called them a few times now and they don't have an answer for me. So for the last 6 months, I had the watch for 4 month. Not a good experience at all. Possibly the Christmas period added 2 weeks, but that still means that they have been 'repairing' it for 6 weeks already. possible reason for failure - the movement is based on ETA, but they modified date plate and added a gmt function. The movement screws are too long, and are screwed in too right. This creates tension to make the date wheel stuck. after a while, the date flip start to have problems because the date flip will start wearing quite close to the plate holding it. This is why rolex use shorter screws and wide head to hold movement instead of movement clamps. |

Browsing Tudor's official IG account, the last time they posted the GMT was back in October...
Makes me think they are well aware of the (relatively) high amount of units with the wheel-date issue and want to avoid the possibility of less-than-stellar feedback...

I am quit concerned about this issue as I want to purchase the Black Bay GMT. I guess these issues with the new movement will be fixed in the future. It´s a real shame, I might just get the new Omega Seamaster diver..

I took my watch to the London RSC yesterday. When I told them my new Tudor GMT was having calendar issues, I got a very knowing "Aah yes". There was no doubt that they'd seen a few of these.
I was told it would take 10 working days to get my watch back. |

I received a similar quote from the Dallas service center when my MT5602 died a little over a year ago. When I inquired, the justification I received for the 10 day turn-around time was the operation involved a movement swap. The only reason it took longer was because the MT5602 was backordered from Switzerland at the time. Perhaps that is their plan in this case as well. Granted, this is a different movement, but it would make sense if they were simply swapping it out.

It's always a potential with a newly introduced movement. The options are to wait a while for the bugs to be worked out (Omega took three iterations to fix their issues with the Co-axials) or to trust that the company will take care of you and ride out any issues.

Got the call yesterday - boy, that was fast... under three weeks?!?
With only one successful date-change recorded, I'm not about to say it's fixed, not for another 60 days or so... What I can say is that: The good - it's as accurate if not more so than when I first received it The bad - it came back with the usual service-center "battle scars" (non-crown side of case scuffed, back of lugs scratched, at least one micro-ding, ...) Other than that, the Service "report" could be more detailed...

This thread is scaring me. My GMT was purchased in the EU late November. Developed the date issue early January. I dropped it off mid-Jan at a local US AD and haven't heard from them for the past month.

Honestly, I'd rather live with it "as-is" than to risk them messing up something else. I've heard of the horror stories (even with Rolex proper) of watches going back, coming back, going back... never ending. FWIW, the AD naturally offered to polish it but I didn't accept. Again, a risk that they over-do it, polish the brushed bevel, who knows... not worth the risk.

Hi, new to the forum and this is the first thread ive read through. Some pretty alarming stuff ive got to say, especially considering the prestige and reputation that comes with these timepieces. “I'd be inclined to send a strongly worded email back to them” Personally......could not agree more with this sentiment. The standards they so-readily boast about are not being kept in some areas clearly Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Though not acceptable having a watch come back from the SC all marked up like that. I personally would be really really annoyed with the internal damage, that is not acceptable at all. |

Here's the thing I can't get past...I've been wearing mine almost exclusively since summer and there's only one tiny almost imperceptible mark on a lug where a GOAT hoof impacted (long story). That watch looks like it was drug back from service by a herd of goats. I personally wouldn't accept it back in the condition as depicted.

What in the hell has happened to their service center! More and more I am noticing posts where people get watches back from Tudor and Rolex with battle scars. Who are they hiring up there! Did they get an intern to work on this watch. I would get on the phone and blast them and demand a brand new watch. Just unacceptable to pay this kind of money for a watch and have them treat it in this fashion.

That Tudor is a disgrace. Feel for you man. They need to make it right. Is there any point in contacting Tudor directly? Name and shame that service centre. Shocking |
