You have reached Rolex Nirvana and end of the modern path - nothing left to conquer in Rolex land and time to hit Patek and AP!

Amazing collection!
OP, curious what your take is on the TT Rootbeer CHNR and the WG Oysterflex and why you opted out of those pieces for your collection? |

Definitely need a Hulk.
For the fun of it, may add a vintage after the Hulk. |

I know you mentioned the Hulk isn't your flavor of green but it really covers a nice range of hues depending on the light. You also have a lot of black dials in there. I'd try and add some color to the collection as you move forward. And as other have suggested, maybe a PM for the next one? Or Patek or FP J as you mentioned. A blue dial 5712 would fit right in.
Either way, nice job on amassing a great collection of very desirable SS pieces! Many dream of owning just one of those. You done good! |

It's hard to be done (I've tried it). And of course you haven't reached the summit...... the flagship Day Date. Carry on good sir, your collection is inspiring.

Outstanding collection! I’d go toward PM Rolex (DD40) if adding more. (But I’m a die hard rolex guy)
If branching out, PP would be a great direction. |

That is all the best of the modern offerings.
The big question is which do you find yourself wearing most???? Is it a rotation or are there 2 or 3 that you grab for?

I would add a Day-Date to that collection. Perhaps 40mm white gold green Romans.

Are these five SS enough?!?
Quote:
Rolex Nirvana....Yes!!! My focus is moving to: Patek 5167 Patek 5164 FP Journe chronometre Bleu Luckily I've had opportunity to try our preview on my wrist so I already know what it look like and feel Quote:
Thank you!!! Chnr ? I like it. But I don't love it. It fits the same as the BLNR. It is a nice combination of colors. I just have bad memories of two tone growing up so it's just a bit of for me. I might change my mind one day however I definitely prefer two tone with rose gold rather than yellow gold With respect to the WG Daytona oyster flex. I don’t really like the way the oyster flex attaches to the case of the watch. The end link is actually part of the watch And can’t be removed therefore if I ever decide to put a strap on it won’t work unless it matches up with the end link. I know this is true with the three recent PM Daytonas with oyster flex however not sure about the models before Quote:
Ack!!! "a couple of Pt...."? My wallet is crying!!! LOL!!! But I cannot tell I lie I have put these PM babies on my wrist for look and feel... Just in case Lol!!! Quote:
Not a fan of the hulk's shade of green. Perhaps a Kermit?!!? Quote:
Thank you!! It hasn't been easy putting together these SS pieces. Patience. Perseverance. A great AD relationship. And a whole ton of luck!! I know I am very lucky to have the pieces I have and more than just one desirable SS How about this blue dial DD? Quote:
Thanks!!!! Ok maybe a long pause before the summit LOL!!! Not a fan of the hulk's shade of green. Perhaps a Kermit?!!? Quote:
Thanks! Quote:
HAHAHA... yes always room for one more! Quote:
Thank you very much!! I think Patek is next :) Either PP 5167 or PP 5164 Quote:
I'd say 3 are in rotation consistently 40% Daytona white 30% BLRO 30% mix of all my other watches but I do grab the SD4K quite a bit Quote:
Thanks! It'll cost you more than a Diet Coke...Hahaha PM? perhaps However I do have a SD4K (or do you mean the SD43? Which i find a bit large for me) Quote:
How about rose gold ? ;-) Just tried on today Quote:
Sorry.... just spreading the TRF gospel !! Thanks!!! |

A few thoughts...
Quote:
I've always had a really visceral negative reaction to those PP Aquanaut/Nautilus watches. Nothing about them appeals to me. But I know I'm in the minority. A lot of people seem to love them. Since you're considering PM watches, think about Lange too. Because standard-production new Langes don't hold their value very well, you can buy certain preowned Lange models for less than you'd pay for a SS Rolex these days. Langes are built like tanks, too. They're not for everyone, but if you like the Lange aesthetic, it might be a nice way to diversify your collection. And white precious metals (platinum and white gold) are stealthy like steel, so nobody but you will know it's a PM watch. |

It's a great set for sure. A dream set, really. It's incredible that you don't have any version of the sub in there though

Are these five SS enough?!?
Quote:
thanks for the heads up... i didn't realize FPJ had reliability issues. i know every now and then high end watches have some QC issues...even Rolex and PP, but would have thought the smaller annual production of FPJ would result in better QC. I will research some more. I'm not a fan of the Nautilus but the Aquanaut just works in my eyes Yeah I have thought about ALS. They are pricey little gems that's for sure. 1815 chrono (boutique edition) and the Datograph have caught my eye, but the prices are up there Quote:
Thank you! My SD4K is my enhanced-Sub LOL!! Actually i have looked at modern Sub, Sub date, Hulk, TT Sub....but the super case and squareish case design just doesn't do it for me. I might look at 5 digit Subs but that another animal altogether. Thanks!!!!! Thank you !! Yes, my AD has really looked out for me and got me the pieces I want (all at MSRP) in a timely manner without having to do any kind of silly bundling of DD/PM watches BS that I'm hearing is happening at many ADs around the world. |

Reminds me of my Rolex collection at its best...and I was super happy with it.
Since then however, the 116500 and the BLNR have gone, replaced with a Nautilus 5990 - it’s hard to stay still in this game!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
