126710BLRO Two Versions?

I have a hard time believing Rolex changed the bezel. It’s Rolex. They don’t go around doing things like that. My guess is it’s just the lighting and a grab for IG likes. Here’s mine. It’s both

If the people who are posting theirs could include a date of purchase that would help confirm or deny this.

Guys Eric Ku is not the kind of character that would make up and post it to his account. Slight changes in fonts, colors etc is not uncommon in the world of Rolex. Have a look in the vintage section.

I love your pictures and it shows how the bezel changes from red to pink and from blue to purple depending on the lighting. It could just be that people have better cameras that hide the true colors.

Couldn't Rolex have improved the process and changed it?

Thank you!

If this is true I genuinely wouldn’t know which I have. It’s a pretty early model but really it looks like both!

How can you say that? Rolex changes things *all the time* with no announcements. How many Submariner dial variations are there? What about changing the clasp from sandblasted to polished? There have been a number of under-the-hood movement updates, too. You’re talking about one of the most tight-lipped companies in the world.

Those are all very minor changes. Rolex is a pretty slow company to change major things like bezel colors. Name another bezel or dial where the colors were drastically changed within the same year. Over years sure, but within the same production year? It’s just generally not their style.

I wouldn’t call it a drastic change when we can’t even tell if it happened without perfect pictures. We know Rolex has had trouble with bi color ceramic bezels so a simple improvement in the process could yield a slight change in color.

I can’t argue with that. Could very well be true! Not like anyone can just walk into an AD to compare lol.

I can confirm. Held a recent production model as well as one in the earliest batches and I can recall the blue for the later one is indeed much more of a navy than purple.

Glad to see they fixed the color issue as that was my big complaint with the blro.

It would help to know the timeline if there was a change. I have a friend that received his July of 18’ and I got mine September of 18’.... I’ll have to get ours side-by-side to see if there is a difference.

Since Eric is one of the foremost experts in this field, he's likely correct.

Nice to see Rolex correcting some of the complaints about the bezel color when it first came out, although I am not in love with either color combo.

Both left and the right bought in December, the middle one was in early September.

You can see that there is obviously colour changed.

Sorry but I don’t buy it. I honestly think what you’re seeing is different light conditions in the two photos and nothing more.

The bezel can look drastically different depending on the light conditions and the angle of the photo. Also there’s no way to know when these were produced so asking owners to post pictures of their blro and when they were purchased, doesn’t mean a lot. I bought mine in November 2018, but when was it made?

The only accurate way to measure the colour would be to use a spectrophotometer IMO.

I read elsewhere that someone had received their blro and the color was different

Thanks for the pic. This is exactly what we needed in here. Purchase date and pics in the exact same light.

I wonder though if this could be batch variations or a permanent change.

I wonder if Rolex will change out the earlier inserts for unhappy customers.
