Super Case Discovery

I know there's been multiple threads on the Super (not Maxi ) case over the years.

I've had a BLNR for almost 5 years now. I sometimes felt like the watched looked/wore a bit big. I'm a thin (but tall) guy and my wrist is a flat 6.5". Last year, I took a link out of my BLRN and it completely changed the way the watch wears. It now sits perfectly and actually wears smaller. Like a snug pair of underwear there’s no more flopping.

If you think the super case wears a bit big, it may be because you're wearing your watch too loose.

I notice that many people wearing 5 digits wear them loose. With hallow links and a smaller case, it’s much easier to pull off.

Just my two cents! This may seem obvious, but it took me some time to figure out. I've been enjoying my watch so much more these days, and so I wanted to share with the community in the event that this may help others.

Cheers!
Matt

When sized right the BLNR wears superb even for a thin wrist (also 6.5”). It sits nice and flat to your wrist. Took me a few tries until I got that perfect fit.

Looks great on you, wear it in good health!

Snug is definitely the way to go. I can't stand when a watch slides around on my wrist.

Looks great!

Thanks! Both shots were taken with my (Almost now vintage) iPhone 6S. When it's overcast outside I get nearly perfect lighting for photos on my balcony.

Couldn’t agree more that fit is key. I used to wear my 42mm Explorer II a bit loose and I just didn’t connect with it. I thought it was just too big. However one day I happen to be at an AD talking about it, and the sales associate took it in and removed one link. Boy, did that make a difference! It’s now very snug on my wrist but with the 5mm extension bracelet, I can loosen it if it starts to get uncomfortable.

People who like 5 digit cases should buy 5 digit watches. History isnt always the future. Enthusiasts dont always adapt but the complaint is valid. I just prefer the newer model heft.

It wears smaller than BLNR cause BLRN is a different watch.

Yet this is so counterintuitive to most people. Outdoor portraits are fantastic with overcast lighting and fill flash.

And to keep this Rolex related, great fit!

I tried on a DSSD at an AD when they first came out.

On an unsized bracelet it felt too big (7.5” wrist).

A few months later at a GTG I tried on another one on a correctly sized bracelet and it felt just right.

As you said the bigger cases have to be snug.

Fantastic pic!

Now put a Jubilee on that BLNR

(I swear if they release a new SS ceramic Coke GMT with a Jubilee I'll lose my mind)

This exactly! The fact that the clasp has the extension is key, otherwise we would be forced to wear it a bit loose to reserve room for warmer days.

The only jubilee I have is 47 years old and I don't think it can hold the weight of the Super Case Might be worth a try though...
