Incoming 15400!

Just got the call from my AP boutique. I have a black dial 15400 ST impending. Hope to have it in hand within a week or two, but I'm off traveling for a bit so it might be a little longer.

This will be my first AP purchased directly from the boutique, and with talks of all sales going boutique only, I think it was more important than ever to establish a relationship with them. I had been on the list for about 8 months for a stainless Royal Oak. Hoping it will be well worth the wait.

I labored over the decision for about 5 minutes after seeing the release of the 15500, but I couldn't get on board with the sportier looking dial. About a week ago I told my salesperson (great guy, by the way) that I didn't want the 15550 he offered me and he said he would do what he could to get me a 15400.

I will post pictures as soon as I receive the watch!

Congratulations!

It’s a great watch and I love mine.

Be sure to have it sized at the boutique in case you need a link and a half for a perfect fit.

Also while you’re there look at options to add a rubber strap or alligator strap in addition to the bracelet. I just got my black 15400 st back from APSC in Clearwater on a rubber strap and tang buckle and it’s a whole nother great watch on a strap.

Enjoy!!

Thank you! Will a Patek / Rolex AD with a great watchmaker not be able to fit it properly? I don’t live in the state with an AP boutique anymore, so they were planning to ship it to me. I can try to schedule a pickup in person if you think it’s smarter. Any photos of yours on strap?

Thank you! Which Porsche do you have? I had a 997.1 a few years ago, followed by a Panamera and most recently (2 weeks ago) added a 991.1

Congrats! I am guessing you're probably one of the last to get one of the remaining 15400 inventory (I've been told no more of those references are coming in). Lucky guy!

You have one of the best specs! Probably will see a strong value hold with yours. Mine's a 991.1 C2 but has PSE/SportDesign wheel, sport plus seats. All the options I wanted except sports Chrono (wasn't a deal breaker for me)

Any photos? Do they look very different from a few feet? Your sentiments must be shared by many if the secondary market is any indication of popularity. Black dials seem to sell over retail (though not near as high as blue).

Thank you Cove. Wear yours in good health and congrats on a near impossible piece to get. Which boutique did you purchase from?

Hey Carry, Thank you! Did someone at AP tell you that or where did you hear it? I'm hoping that to be the case, though the 15400 still appears on AP's website.

I purchased from Bal Harbour... I also didn't have to wait too long but I think it was more luck and timing.

Two separate boutiques both told me on the phone last week that the 15400 is "officially discontinued." That's AD Boutique talk, so take that for what it's worth. However, given they were actual boutiques (and all the reasons AP has for moving to the boutique model) I'd like to give them more credit than just things coming out of the AD rumor mill.
