I checked my spring bars this afternoon and indeed that is the problem. I was trying to install the bracelet using the long spring bars.

Unfortunately when I compared the length of all six spring bars that came with the watch, I found out I only have ONE short bar.

I tried installing the bracelet with the short spring bar and it went a lot better.

Which leads me to my next question. Where do I go about ordering factory length short spring bars??? I figure I will pick up two new ones. Do I need to get these from Omega?

Thanks.

Any AD or boutique should be able to order them for you.

My nearest boutique is almost an hour away. Any place I can get them online?

Try Ebay with the part number I mentioned before.

Thanks. Unreal what they are charging for these things online ~$15 each. I'll call my AD and see what they charge.

One other question for you.

I wound up going to an AD over the weekend and asked about ordering spring bars.

He gave me two sets of spring bars, one 20mm and other other 19mm free of charge.

These were spring bars he just had on-hand. No idea if they are Omega brand or not.

Any issue with using these you think? Or should I avoid and just go ahead and order OEM spring bars through the AD?

While it would be a reasonable assumption that the spring bars given out by an AD of the brand are of acceptable quality - or even OEM - you mentioned they are unmarked and generic, so there is no way for me to say whether it's a good idea to use them or not.

Honestly, even at the $15 price you posted before, I'd just go with the original spring bars, for peace of mind if nothing else.

I kind of had the same thoughts. This AD is a former Rolex AD that also sells Omega and other high end watches, so like you I would assume this is a high quality spring bag. But peace of mind is a good point. I may go ahead and order a set from my regular AD anyway and maybe just use these temporarily.
