1033 or 1389 for first PAM
Hello,
As many people before me in this group I am hesitating between two models for my first PAM. I am looking for a model that I can wear every day. After a visit to the shop, my choice is between the Luminor 1033 (44') and the Submersible 1389 (47'). I have a preference for the Submersible but wearing shirts most of the time, I have doubts about the fact that the Submersible can become a watch that I can wear every day. If some people can share their feedback it would be really nice Thanks in advance. |

Without flinching, I would go with the 1389. It seems like we are on the same page due to your preference.

Thanks for your quick response much appreciated. The only thing who make me doubt is I am not sure the 1389 can be used as a daily watch, especially for the business side with shirt and suit. Any others members who can share their experience will be great

Buy the submersible. Watches are bought with the heart, not the head.
But in saying that, a 47mm submersible with a suit would look odd, I wouldn't do it. You'll need something else for that role. |

1389 and a thin Panerai, probably a 728 or 729 (I can’t believe I actually recommend a due!!!) so you get both the sub and the blue dial pam for daily
I like 1033 but I think blue dial and silver hands do not fit together, especially with patina lume... |

1033 has a brushed SS case and a sun brushed blue dial with silver hands. The sun rises dial (as opposed to sunburst blue) is a little dull with the silver hands IMHO.
The 1389 is awkward to match with lighter straps, and really requires the use of black or dark grey straps to match the stark contrast between the black dial and the stark white markers. It’s just really hard to find a nice lighter or brown strap combination with the 1389. The 389, OTOH, is a strap horse and takes tan and brown straps very well due to its ecru markers. But if 389 is out of the picture, between the two, I would go with a 1033 as a daily wearer and the 1389 if you are willing to wear it primarily on weekends. |

As far as I know, PAM 692 is the thinnest 47mm submersible at 15mm. 1389 is at least 1 mm thicker than that.

I personally love the 1389 and yhinknit could easily be a daily, but probably not best for a suit

Submersible 1389 probably not the best choice for suite , but if you are comfortable with this who's care
